Yes. Enough with the whiny posts about maintenance.
I have no problem with the regular maintenance as I know it's vital. It's the constant emergency maintenances that are staring to bug me. Not only are they far too often for it to be anything that could be classed a real emergency, they've still yet to fix a ton of bugs that I've been reporting for weeks anyway.
They don't fix bugs during maintenance, there's nothing they can do about lag and they barely put a dent in the gil sellers ranks when they do occasionally ban some of them.
So what are they doing?

why do you feel they owe you an explanation? just wondering.....
Yes because I said this is exactly the same as paying taxes didn't I...
I'm paying Square-Enix for the service of playing their game. So if I'm constantly stopped from playing, then yes I'm going to wonder why. The same way as if I got home and tried to watch Sky TV but was told for three hours a day three times a week I couldn't, I would want to know why.
If I don't pay my taxes, I go to prison. If I don't pay SE anymore, then that means I'm not playing. I'm not suggesting it's to the level of making me want to quit yet, but for some people it very well could be. Which is something they should do their best to discourage. A simple explanation would go a long way.

No you said that if you pay you should know anything and everything. So I brought an example that obviously went over your head. I'll make it simpler. Go into KFC and request the Colonel's secret recipe. If they say no, then tell them that you pay for their food so they should give you the information.
That's right, and in order to ensure that they're providing you with the best service, they need to perform maintenance every so often to ensure reliable stability. That's just how it is with IT.
If it's emergency maintenance, and they aren't giving an explanation, it's likely because there's an exploit they need to fix. Now, what do you think would happen if they said, "Oh there's this exploit and we're gonna fix it. Please don't try to take advantage of the exploit before we fix it."
But in this case it's regularly scheduled maintenance, and it's two freakin' hours in the middle of the night. And even if you're in Europe, you really can't find something to keep you occupied for two hours? On a Friday?
