I mean sure this that or the other might be released in 2months to a year but there are so many options when it comes to games now that companies can't afford to wait that long.

The example everyone gives "World of Warcraft wasn't perfect at launch." When World of Warcraft launched there wasn't 10 MMOs before it and 5 more coming out in the next year. The game had time to develop because aside from EQ there wasn't much else to play with that game style. Trinity MMOs are a dime a dozen these days. You can't make a game with this many problems and such a huge lack of content and just say "well we'll fix it in upcoming patches." Do you still play Age of Conan? War Hammer? Rift? Aion? SWTOR? I mean the list goes on forever. There are so many games out now and so many games have failed that you'd think developers would learn from other companies successes and failures, but clearly they do not.
