I just want to play the game, but you won't let me.

As it stands, the only way to really gear your character is through Myth tomes (not including Coil as it's quite possible to go months without a single piece). Meaning you can only gear one class.

At the moment I have a few classes with their Relic and full DL and now they sit and do nothing while I gear my PLD. Why? In ANY other MMO I'd be free to gear/play my other classes as long as I put the time and effort in, but with FFXIV you can't do ANY of that. Why?

I can't do content with them like Coil because it's locked on all classes, I can't gear them because there is nothing to gear them with. They are stuck in limbo until Square lets me do something with them.

On a different note. Stop being so whiny, play something else, that's what the armory system is for. Oh, so you cant deck out the other class/jobs in high tier gear that quickly? Geez, that's a bummer.

I don't get it, what does other people's gear have to do with the fact that you can't play anything but one class? Like you literally cannot play more than 1 class in any given week, meaning you throw all your eggs in one basket and once you've done that, you're not getting out.

You cannot gear a class in Allagan because of RNG and other party members needing loot and you cannot gear a class in AF2 because you're spending it on one class and when you've started, there's no turning back.

I don't understand. If you could at least gear your class, but it simply took longer (what Square calls "content"), I'd understand, but that's not even the case, you quite literally can't.

I know right , they could allow 300 tomes per job not just per character .

Not sure what they were thinking when they allowed people to level more than one job per character and yet at lvl 50 you are stuck to just gearing with relic + DF gear .

Going to have to agree with this. It gets real old only being able to gear one specific role when I have all these other jobs I enjoy too. I can take the coil lockout all around but at least let me collect myth per tome. Thats not really "too fast" as its still 3 weeks per myth piece anyways essentially. Also this would allow folks to start gearing a viable "back up" for those nights a healer/tank or DD just couldnt make it and you need to fill. I have no desire to make multiple characters and have to replay the entire story line all over again (not that I mind the story) and level the essential cross classes for skills, when this system is designed to negate having to do that to begin with.

Main reason why I don't bother levelling another DoW / DoM class (Currently using BRD as my only Lv 50 DoW class).

Another reason is that I hate spamming FATEs.

Putting a Cap on Tomes per Character is just genius, when it can be done per Class / Job.

DL and relic weapon will do you just fine in Coil and if you roll Coil with the backup class you'll get to Need the Allagan that drops for it. YOu could also be more frugal with your myth purchases. If you deck yourself in ilvl90 in the main armor slots you hardly need to upgrade your accessories to Hero's. This point would be completely moot if they had gotten Crystal Tower in at launch but unfortunately they didn't.
