Tanking as War endgame assistance plz?

So i jumped on my war which was 50 from 1.0 and thought i would try tanking in 2.0. We all know steel cyclone is trash so thats no longer a viable option for keeping hate as it was in 1.0.

Anyways i DF'd for WP and basically at first i didn't know what to do so i did what i normally did on my pld which was flash the mob group and spam Overpower a few times on them to keep hate. I would do combos in between but still had trouble keeping hate from whm or blm. and my hotbars in general are a mess so thought i would ask what you i guess main tankers do to keep hate mind you i haven't got DL on my war atm just gear from AK and dl accessories just the rings and wrist from my drg/mnk. After the run i was debating getting the crafted DS gear and meld materia to it as the gear for my war. (btw i got garuda axe)

Anyways to all you fellow Eorzians who main tank what advice can you give me or tell me that would help me in tanking WP/AK/Prea/CM so on.

Sounds like you're doing it right, If I'm pulling 3 mobs I flash each pack 1-2 times then turn around and overpower, I have to dance around to avoid the red aoe and pop 2 CDs. It helps your healer out if you start your pulls with 5 stacks of wrath so I usually run in after popping infuriate.

Don't think your gear is ready for that kind though and it makes a world of difference when you have your relic+1

Some warriors stack strength for the extra enmity generated from your self heals and dps

'Usually' I start off throwing tomahawk to start the pull, when they run close, I pop overpower, then flash. Then ill run a butcher's block combo, hit another overpower. Then Ill start HS>SS mob1, but switch to mob 3 for the BB move, back to mob1 for HS>SS, switch to mob2 and BB, then back to mob1 for HS>maim for attack boost. From there mob1 is close to being dead, so I switch to mob2 for HS>SS, mob3 for BB, and just take em down from there. Just keep in mind the mobs that wont instantly start running at you when you tomahawk, that'll ruin your overpower right off the bat if your not careful

Also, taking about messy hotbar, I'm assuming ps3? I'm sure there's way better setups, but here's my setup, which works well enough for me:

R2-
Circle - Heavy swing
X - skull sunder
Square - maim
Triangle - butcher's block

Dpad RIGHT - Inner Beast
Dpad DOWN - Overpower
Dpad UP - Tomahawk
Dpad LEFT - fracture

L2-
Circle - infuriate
X - OH SHIT MACRO
Square - storms path
Triangle - RAAWR MACRO

Dpad RIGHT - storms eye
Dpad DOWN - steel cyclone (really only use on Garuda for plumes)
Dpad UP - unchained
Dpad LEFT - LB (rarely used, but it's there)
