Class Quests - stuck while leveling using Duty Finder

Hello All, this is my first post on the forum.

I would just like to say i like the game so far but have run into a few issues I wanted to ask.

I am married and also work 8 hours a day and do not have a lot of free time to play. When i do get some time finally to log on, I've been stuck having to queue as a damage dealer to finish the only quest left in my log. Sometimes the queue sits there for up to 2 hours! I do not know if i am bugged and should re-log or what. I have asked in /shout and it seems people tell me to roll a different class (which i really think is stupid to have to do) or I am told to level ONLY by FATE - and if i do anything else im an idiot... which i don't really understand why I am told this so much.

What exactly am I doing wrong? Do i really have to level only by FATE? My hunters log for class and GC is complete, and because Ive had to gruel through many hours of FATE while waiting for a DF dungeon pop - im starting to become very bored with the game. I just don't think its right I have to do so much FATE in order to level. Please help or give some advice - thanks everyone

Until patch 2.1 comes not many people are going to be doing low level dungeons.
your best bet is to find friends to help, shout for a party & ask for help or be a tank.
otherwise sadly DPS are the ones stuck with the waiting queue.

There are a lot more damage dealers than healers or tanks, so it can take a long time to find a full group if you are using the Duty Finder. But don't re-roll if you don't want to, instead find a Free Company or Link Shell with people who can queue up with you.

I have done this on a few of my characters and it is much faster. If I ask in LS for people to help me with a story locked dungeon, I can usually get at least a partial group in under 20 minutes. And so long as I queue up with a tank, I usually am able to get in instantly from there. If I do it with the DF, as you have seen, it can take hours.

Hopefully 2.1 will fix this by giving high lvl players a reason to queue low lvl dungeons again. Until then, best bet is to make friends. I help my FC mates running low lvl dungeons all the time. Just run around and shout while waiting. All you can do for now.

Get into a LS/FC if you already haven't or do some shouts to try to form a party. DPS classes get the short straw for duty finder queues. There are going to be several dungeons along the way that will be required to complete to progress in the story, so better get used to that notion.

Be sure to check all 4 languages when you queue for Duty Finder, it speeds up wait time significantly. I run a DPS as my alt class and am able to get into the low level dungeons in no more than 40 minutes (typically). I have never experienced the 2+ hour wait time that some people report, so I am sorry to hear that you are waiting so long.

As others have said, there are helpful people out there who will help you along, but alas, most of them our drowned out by the constant "LFM fate party" shouting. Chin up mate, onward and upward.

Find a tank that also needs to run it and queue with them, you will get pulled into their insta-queue.

Note: This also works with a healer to a degree.
