How many of you create different characters for different jobs?

Given the way the class/job system works (and the fact that there are some benefits to leveling different classes on the same character), I'm curious how many people are actually creating different characters rather than using one character to train all the classes.

I want to create different characters and use different races because I have different ideas for how each character should be, but two big advantages to using the same character are:

1. You have access to the same pool of gil and tomestones
2. You can queue for one class while leveling another

So how many of you prefer to still create different characters despite some advantages to NOT doing so, and how many of you would rather just use the same character for everything? (It just feels wrong to have a white mage who can also be a dragoon, for example.)

...is actually a disadvantage when it comes to myth tomes, because of the cap. This is the main reason I've seen people cite as to why they created a second character for another job, so they can gear two jobs at once.

I really see advantage of creating another character apart for
- Cosmetic reasons
- To be on another server
- To be used for inventory space for main character

You could also level each individual job to 50 faster that way too, as each character will have it's own pool of leve allowances to draw from.

I have alt characters and I enjoy creating them.
It saves me getting bored with 1 race and I can switch around and let certain ones build up rested exp and leve allowances and extra storage space.
Also one of the main reasons is I hate the way the fate system is currently and will not take part in the Zerg lemming style leveling that is going on in groups,I do them now and then but only solo.
It's a little bit annoying that you can not mail gear to your alts but I get around that by using the FC chest or market board.
I seem to see things differently the 2nd or even 3rd/4th time I level a character which is nice as this keeps the game flow interesting and less tedious.

I have 3 mains on different servers. I just find it easier to keep their identities separate, especially since it becomes so tedious to level everything on one character.
That and I love creating characters lol. I could do customizations for hours ....

I didn't understand. Can you share things between different characters in different servers? How? I don0t know because basically I have only one character. The other two were just for little testing.

Having a second character also includes the ability to raid twice a week or more.

Also so I can gear another job with myth gear!

i began the game believing any race could play any job therefore one need to have 1 charcter.

then i saw lalafel dunesfolk tanks with less HP than regular war-class players. starting stat differences can be found here http://www.ffxivguild.com/ffxiv-a-re...l-stats-guide/ although I do not know at what rate each race's stats go up other than the ones you can select yourself but the starting stats are a guide at least.
