    i do agree with mcclebby, alot of fights require mnks to move around, loosing GL often, and i usually never have complaints from any groups, and normally ask the other dps in my groups to take adds while i stay on boss, using the full potential possible on mnk (keeping GL3 up as much as possible)

    and they SE already said they will be making modifications to melee, idk what exactly, but they did mention that the aoes from bosses cause melee dps to fall too much

    one last tip, some bosses, u can stack foresight and fist of earth to help mitigate some of the damage from an aoe and not loose your GL3, you just need to determine what the tradeoff is

    modification? but now i dont see any difference in melee... not about to tank the boss... you can see all party doing dungeon. more prefer for range job then melee. Coz melee just have a single target skill need combo before cast aoe. so i think there is some sort need to be attention from SE. Start from WP/AK/Coil range dps more valuable then melee.
