It would be trivial to store the cooldowns for each of your available skills in memory. It doesn't even have to tick. They just store the cooldown period remaining when you switch. SE will probably claim they can't do it because of PS3 memory limitations. This will open up the door for hacks though, unless they store these CD values on the server which is a sucky solution but not impossible.

Is there really a cooldown for Steady Hand II when switching? I often switch between crafting classes, and then begin crafting right away. I don't have Steady Hand II, but all of the abilities that I have are instantly available.
no there is no cooldown, only cooldown i can think of is if you are slotting it into another craft profession outside of town

All in all, I was upset at first about it...but I have since learned to try & plan ahead in all things that I do & it rarely bothers me. Only when I get an "out of the blue" invite to go tank BCt1 & I have to wait the full 7 minutes for hallowed ground to be ready even when I have been crafting for 2 hours...& other similar situations. The whole GP thing is a little annoying...but it's only about a 5 min or so wait for full GP so I just change jobs about 2 game time hours before an unspoiled node.
Being able to switch to a combat class when attacked on a gathering job would make no sense as they gave those classes "Stealth" for a reason.



Stealth itself was a pretty poor work around for the NM's and other crap directly preventing you from completing leves in 1.0. That and they kept sticking more and more hostiles in DoL routes in general despite the complaints.All in all, I was upset at first about it...but I have since learned to try & plan ahead in all things that I do & it rarely bothers me.
