    The maximum # of materia in any crafted/materia slotted item is 5.

    If you are asking the stat cap, I'm not sure, maybe check out a crafting thread.

    Ultimately, it's not Darksteel, so I was never interested. I'm pretty sure your Artifact gear should be better. Maybe not, but, Artifact should last you until either Darksteel or Darklight. Hoplite. Hoplite will last you until DS/DL.
