I think I look pretty snazzy. Allagan legs go perfectly with the chest, and the horn is cool.

It's probably someone complaining about the horn that has no idea how much an important part it is for summoners in the FF lore. Same for the people complaining about the bard gear when bards have always been colorful in this series and real life.

Glad that never made it into the game, if they made summoner af1 armor look like that I’d have stuck with allaghan/dl strictly for aesthetic reasons.

That's actually a "coming soon" armorset, there's a whole set of them from the recent live letter for every class.
