What materia to use on ilvl70 set?

Hi.
I just recently crafted full lvl 70 hq astral jewellery set, and I'm now working on crafting a full vanya healing set. Also, the weapon i will be using will be lvl 70. My question is what materia should i be adding to this gear?

All of this is for a white mage.

But your a scholar, does it matter?

Not really. If anything, as a WHM you'd prioritize Piety > Vitality > Determination, but if you have the gil, you can meet the stat caps for anything you feel you'd need. Make sure you research the stat caps on every item before you put materia into it, and be SURE to put the most expensive materia in first. You want to be as cost efficient as possible when making the items, while also hitting all the stats you'd want.

WHM should prioritize Spell Speed > Determination > Piety > Vitality. Vitality may be higher priority if you are deep in Coil. But each gear piece is going to have a different stat cap depending on the base stats.

I wouldn't prioritize Spell Speed as a WHM personally. It's such a bad stat most of the time as it takes SO much to see any benefit whatsoever (even then, it's barely noticeable). Since I have both WHM and SCH, I've been doing Vit/Crit/Determination/PIE in most materia slots.

I have the Vanya set (3 pieces) and an Astral earring. I capped off DET and Crit in the hat and overmelded one Quicktongue III.

The chest is already DET capped so I am allotting Crit (have not finished collecting materia for this.) Some people opt to allot full PIE into the chest due to aggro issues with WHM critting. I chose crit so I can cross class my scholar using the same set.

For gloves I got a PIE IV to replace the PIE I lost when unequipping the DL gloves. I haven't decided if I should meld more PIE or Crit.

Astral earring was a big upgrade for me over the DL. Allotting DET (to cap) and PIE.

Its been shown that stacking spell speed gear vs determination gear results in the same HPS. So by stacking spell speed, you lose nothing and gain mobility. I'm sorry that you don't notice it, but that doesn't change the fact that it is the most valuable stat for WHMs.

I'm planning on doing vit, deter, spellspeed and piety, for all the jewelry. So Vit 4, and the rest 3. What should i focus on adding as far as gear?
