Hey, I just figured out why some people are getting stuck at 0.0 b/s.
The updater uses the same success system as the game's crafting. *rimshot*

I think patcher bogs down with alot of user.
I started when it came up and averaged 350KB/Sec the whole download, took me about 10mins.
I think they might have done something to block other torrent clients (is that possible?) because i'm getting 0 with standard bittorrent.

Many people tried to inform them of these problems in beta.
We were just being stupid sillyheads though. What do we know? Stupid NA players...
It wasnt just the NA players. Besides the team was already having internal issues, so that was pretty much doomed from the start. New team, new expectations, and hopefully a fixed patcher along with the engine optimizations they are working on.
That being said... for some reason it wont work with normal bittorent atm.

This is the first time using a torrent app has 100% failed. In the past it's been the ONLY way to get a patch in a reasonable, timely manner but this time... Nothing. Refuses to even start. So I'm stuck with the updater that's downloading at the approximate rate of a petrified slug.
If the updater is stuck for everyone it could be that the original file was removed or they stopped seeding it due to possible bugs and people connected to the torrent are receving shared data up to a certain point.
Seems to be downloading fine for me so far I'll let you know in a few minutes when it gets to that 60% mark.
I haven't really had any problems since the beta. Some have taken a lot longer than others though. 1.17a took around 10 min. 1.17b was surprisingly fast - it took about 3.5 min with an average d/l speed of 1.2 mbps.
I have to agree. I have ports opened checked my firewall etc. and I am still having problems with the download
In my case at least, I discovered that while I had the proper ports forwarded, they were set to my old PC's static IP and my new one was on dynamic. Set it to static, adjusted the router settings, and blazed through.
