Speed Run Dugeons

I know a lot of ppl have been doing these lately, but consider the new person that just started running with any group. They have to start somewhere, so don't be so discouraging to that player, or how will we ever get player's to stay in the game? IF everyone started dropping the game then, you would have less ppl and couldn't find anyone to run with. I say help the new guy, don't be so hurtful and dramatic to them. These new player's need DL gear to so help them out, even if you are doing speed run's in CM or WP.

It's actually their fault for looking a SR on Duty Finder. They should know that they might encounter new players that are running that content for the first time or they don't know how to SR or they only want to have fun with the game. Here, on the forums, when this kind of threads appear, people encourage speedrunners to queue dungeons with a pre-made group. The same goes for you, shout for help. There's always a helping hand around.

I agree with this, but some ppl just want to DF up and dun consider the other player might be a new guy that need's Myth or Philo for DL and stuff. I do agree, that those ppl doing speed run's should have a made group already, but sometimes those ppl are not on and they have to do DF, so like I said consider the other player.

Most DF speed runners are generally bad players who can't find real speed runs. Exceptions with some, like me and my healer friend who can turn normal runs up a notch for quickies, with newer dps that still have clue on what they are doing.

On a different note after running so many runs quickly, you kind of lose good judgement on what is possible with newbies and what requires a good geared group. An example is almost every party I have been with can do the Tonberries, birds, and bugs at the start in one pull, but the pull with skeletons and the ghost can really do in some healers, despite me thinking it is an easy pull.

I have joined WP as a tank so many times and had people complain that I wasn't going faster and then we finish faster than they normally do... turns out slow and steady is actually pretty fast. No wipes helps a lot.

Yeah, in the run I mentioned above, we finished at around the 20 minute mark (I think it said we had 72 minutes left when I pulled the last boss). Not 12 minutes like the guy wanted, but not a long run by any means.

Please define speed run. I don't think anyone doing Duty Finder expects a "speed run" do they want to go as quick as possible? sure.. but I doubt they're pulling multiple packs of trash if the group cant handle it, and or doesn't have ideal AoE classes.

Do people really want to go slow? I'm confused.

You expecting people in DF to go slow cater to your play style are just as bad as those you complain about. Every DF group should go as quick as the group can handle without going overboard, that's just common sense. That doesnt mean pull bosses if people dont understand how to fight them.. but I dont get the whole go slow concept... Speedrun is a very generic term... Ive had "speed runs" take 30 minutes in WP, and ive had them take 10 minutes.

I attempted a 'sr' for the first time on my war in WP day before yesterday, took 25 mins /cry Even though we chain pulled and aoe'd stuff down fairly easily, it still took the same amount of time it would've taken had we just killed the mob packs normally.

Well, you have to considerate really of other ppl, yes they may not have the best gear ro whatever so try not to rush. I know ppl are impatient, but if you have just a little patience you'll get through the dugeon with no problem's. Impatient's equals everyones death everytime in the dugeon, that also goes with no communication's.

I ran with people all day yesterday who hadn't done but a couple runs ever before I joined them. Took longer but it wasn't bad, gave them some pointers and we all had a good time. Capped my myth and then ran coil t2, good xiv day if ya ask me.
