Do something about the spammers, please!

My blacklist is now full. I've never had this happen in any video game I've played. Something must be done because I can't handle receiving 10-15 tells from RMT during one session of play. I'm sure you'd do something about it if RMT were spamming your forums the way they do the players in-game.

I agree, it's terrible. One thing to check is if any of the names on your blacklist are shown as "deleted." I assume that means the character was deleted and so you can remove that name and free up some space.

All they'd have to do is add a right-click option to "Report Spam." Lots of other games have that function, and this game is among the ones that need it the most. Temporary bans based on mass reports could presumably be completely automated as well. No clue why Square Enix hasn't implemented something like this by now. Hopefully we won't have to wait for another version update to see this happen.

it is/was not only stupid but retarded to not add quick click to report and block people in chat and on character.. one again no offence but thats just stupid.

What they need to do is build in an auto silence feature.

If person z is Reported (not Blisted, more below) by more than x number of players in y amount of time then z can no longer type in any chat channel until they contact support. When the silencing event happens, a report is automatically sent to Squenix with chat logs from z so that they have reference if and when that person calls.

In order to prevent abuse from bad players, x should be reasonably high and reports from multiple people in FCs and LSs are weighted down to prevent an organized group from potentially ganging up on someone that is not liked by the group.

Also, Blist should be for general players, not spammers. A new feature needs to be added that is a report feature geared specifically towards spamming. If z is spamming, you right click on that players name and click "Report Gil Spamming", at which point the player is both reported and added to an invisible block list. If that person does not become flagged enough to be silenced, their name falls off the list automatically after a period of time. If they do become globally silenced, their name would still fall off the list. This would keep the invisible list manageable and keep it from becoming bloated.
