Why release Dungeons without a new battle system. They should go hand and hand.

Why release Dungeons without a new battle system. They should go hand and hand.
Only reason why we didn't get ANY content at all for Months on end was because of the New Dev team switch. And this New Dev Team has been doing th following that leads up to this "3 Month Blast of Content" Starting with 1.18.
-Planning on what content they want to put onto the game (Majorly) (and Most of the time)
-Test Test Test Test and more Testing ( to make sure they got everything is prepared for the upcoming Patch 1.18 and so forth
- Battle system Planning/Overhaul ( in which will change the complexity of the game)
- Now beginning to see the Implementations (The Fruits) of Yoshi-P's Team about to come into Fruition!
So, In conclusion Stop Crying over a Mediocre Patch because this patch wasn't even suppose to exist (Take this as a bonus). Because the Hard work and labor will being to show in 1.18 Patch! and so forth!

How can I look forward to a new patch when all the others promised to have real content but ended up being minor changes that most people do not like? What I want to know is why they didn't ask the community if they wanted mutant mobs the size of King Kong before implementing that? Also, we answered two player polls. None of the questions on those polls have been addressed in any patch.
Why waste customers times and expectations by creating pretend polls that they will not even use to get busy on the work that players really want? How many times are people going to believe SE and then be let down by them when the patch rolls out? What makes me smh is that after the game has been given to Yoshi P, all that has changed about this game is a few minor changes.
This game is in critical condition. It needs content NOW, not later. I'm laughing that people actually think that 1.18 will have any of the stuff that was mention before it rolls out. Expect the worse, don't lie to yourself anymore.

What where they promising for the patches prior? How can I look forward to a new patch when all the others promised to have real content but ended up being minor changes that most people do not like? The biggest thing we voted for was the lack of in game content followed by a change to the battle system. It has been explained that before they can move on to large changes in content, the fundamental change of the battle system must be addressed first. They have been planing dungeons and the new system for a long time and have released many side quests (what we asked to be implemented first) between then and now. Good strong content takes a lot of time to plan and implement and throughout that time Japan has suffered through a plethora of issues that have hurt squares production. As far as being in "critical condition", It doesn't really matter how many people they loose at this point if they can get more people later. It's not like they'll loose any more money from it, they're not charging us.

ok, I get it. You think the dev team can do no wrong. Doesn't make everyone else blind to their empty promises. I was once like you, hoping for the best, and not trying to focus on what was wrong. Even when there was so much more wrong with the game than there was good. I have gotten tired of being in denial. No more am I going to raise my hopes up just to continue to get text changes and mobs blown up. They have continued to say that this or that update will have company content, or just content overall. I don't need to list them. Just look at every Directer letter, or every lodestone post. What where they promising for the patches prior?

Isn't this the problem? Many of the patches that have come and gone were supposed to be "the biggest patch released for the game so far" and none of them lived up to expectations. The game is in bad shape and one, two, ten patches won't make it ready.Instead of getting upset over "targetic systems strikes back: the sequel" we should be focusing on what is confirmed for 1.18, namely
- Dungeons
- Encampments
- Initial Grand Companies
- Intital Battle Changes
On top of this there will probably be a bunch more side quests, and most likely another targeting tweak (4th times the charm?) But the point is that 1.18 is going to be the biggest patch released for the game so far, and soon we will forget that 1.17b ever happened.
I will be amazed if 1.18 has even half of the stuff you listed (which wasn't even much) and people will rage once again with SE lied/FFVIX is crap.
Things will fall into place in time, no need to keep up with the "next patch will solve everything" routine. A year or two might be too much to ask for but it is what the game will need.

To be fair SE tried to downplay 1.17b as much as possible. It wasn't even properly announced, and we only knew about it coming because of the maintenance notice. On the other hand they have actually been talking up 1.18 for the past couple months now. We should temper our expectations to what SE is saying, and with 1.18 they seem to be saying a lot.
The best thing I've seen all day on these forums is that Star Marmots should be different colors.
