LOL
This is actually ridiculous, If you read Lauront's posts Im sure you'll see which side of any old flag he's on. Clearly he's stating that a caricature character such as the one shown does nothing for the image that most LGBT people are trying to get away from, we aren't looking to stand out, or looking for any attention.
Eww... gross. There is nothing wrong with being yourself. And trying to shame someone into not being their self is honestly just wrong and disgusting. There are all walks of life in every single place in this world. No matter who you are, what you are, where you come from, who you love and not love. Just be yourself and be honest with yourself.LOL

Again there is nothing wrong with being yourself. If you want to be flamboyant then work it! If you want to be quiet and reserved, do you. But no need to come for others and who they are...

Well isn't that just your view as one member of the LGBT community?
I was expressing my view as another member of the SAME community. And fyi, no one came for another, as usual someone took offence at something so silly and petty. Everyone will be taking offence at a simple "hello" next. Good god girl get a GRIP.
No. your so called "view" was trying to belittle someone in said community for not being what your viewpoint, morals, or standing in that community is in your so called "view".Well isn't that just your view as one member of the LGBT community?

So by trying to do that, you were insulting them. I'm sorry... Yes I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and no... as far as I'm aware I never got any memo that stated we as a community were trying to distance ourselves from others and who they are and how they wish to represent themselves. Again you're allowed to have your personal view and opinion. But you better be ready for those who disagree with you and see what you're actually saying. And willing to accept to be called out when it's clearly
hateful and inappropriate.
EDIT: After this message though, I will no longer derail this thread any further. I'm simply just going to blacklist the appropriate people, and some already are.

And all this gay drama started because a weird hair color~ this is why I can't identify myself with that so called LGBT community. I'm gay but I don't like the LGBT community at all. As Pomelo said, if you even say "hello" you are gonna offend someone lol
Wait, I'm really lost. So, someone makes a gratuitous negative comment about the LGBT flag, telling another user that his character "would look better without the flag". Said user merely replies stating that there's nothing wrong with the flag and he's proud of it. And then several random people join a discussion that was supposed to be over, acting the most offended while at the same time trying to make the screenshot user look like drama queen.
I for one didn't see any big drama until you and others joined with your blaming. Honestly, I don't know what's going on, but the irony feels quite heavy here.

Awwww, don't go overboard. I'm not gay, but what I've come to understand is that FFXIV is a safe place for a lot of younger gay players to cut loose and be themselves for a few hours a day, in a manner that would get them harassed or beaten up in their real community. Those flamboyant twinks in their battle bikini briefs are just as likely to be closeted young gentlemen of the south simply relishing an opportunity to be out and proud before having to go back to their bitter brimstone bible thumping meatspace. I can't speak for other countries, but in the states, where you live plays a huge part in how safe someone can be just being themself. Certain parts of our nation are nuts.
