If the server doesn't process the results of each action (success/failure), it's far too easy to cheat. Just like teleport hacks. The client handles your movement, so hacks can send fake positions and the server just trusts the info and puts you there. If the client handled crafting results, there'd be a crafting hack that just sent the server "Yep, I HQed this" for every synth.
