    Accuracy for DOM in Coil

How important is accuracy for the DOM classes (particularly SMN) in BoC? I ask because there is barely any accuracy on my Darklight gear whereas the DOW set seems to have a lot of it.

It's not at all clear to me.

I think the cap is somewhere around 430 for you and 440 for your pet. Coil is really the only place where accuracy matters at all as far as I know, so if you intend to coil regularly then you need to keep your accuracy in mind when you plan your gear progression.

Hopefully someone comes in and answers with a definitive number though. I did some research a while back and it seemed like everyone had a different number.

I am not sure if its pinpointed down to where but blm is about 430 to 432 ish i am at 434. i did hear summoners need a bit more so their pets wont miss. If you have full darklight , chances are you are over the cap for coils, but as you start to gear up n get myth items you will need to ajust here and there. Try finding if when you do an upgrade, food can supplement the acc you need when in coils.

    Hmmm

I have full darklight except the head and ring from AK and the mytho robe with my relic and my accuracy is only 392. That's the thing - of the caster Darklight, only the gloves and earrings have any accuracy at all (skipped cowl though).

Ergo confusion. I've been using Buttons in a Blanket as my best food - is there +40 accuracy food?

There isn't any +40 accuracy food, but until you get other coil pieces you are supposed to be using the DL Cowl til you have other options of getting accuracy. There really isn't any confusion, you just made a pretty bad choice of buying the myth chest first before looking into whether you'd have enough accuracy. I suggest you look into getting some crafted pieces and using accuracy materia if you still have plans on doing coil.

Unfortunately, getting the Myth chest first was a costly mistake and you don't really have any good options to bring yourself up to where you need to be. There are, however, 2 ways to do it.

1: Bite the bullet. Get the DL cowl and use it until you can buy enough other Myth gear to cap yourself.

2: Crafted gear and food. The Vanya hat can be melded with up to 12 Acc and would be the best bet considering it only takes 9 Philo and replaces an AK piece. The 2nd piece is a bit of a toss up. Chest, Gloves, Ears, and Rings are out leaving Waist, Legs, Boots, Neck, and Wrist. Of these, only the Waist and boots cost 9 Philo mats; the rest are 18. Get both pieces crafted, cap them on Acc using materia, and eat good food. All told you are probably looking in the ballpark of 800k - 1mil+ fro the gear and about 3k per food item.

I did get the Vanya hat made by someone in my FC.

As for the rest, I just passed 200k gil. So I don't think 2 is really all that doable. Guess no coil for me...

Acc cap, for the SMN, is 430-435. Somewhere around there. I haven't dipped below 435, but 435 is 100% accuracy.

For pets, the cap is ~450 most likely. 442 is ~97.5% accuracy. 415 is ~80%.

Remember, food has no effect on pets. Food is not a replacement for accuracy for Summoners. While the DPS loss is "minimal" since it's our pet, it could have far-reaching results such as a missed conflag/dreadknight, missing Enkindle, missing during Rouse/Spur, etc. If you're just starting turn 4 and are tight on the DPS checks, it's a burden there as well. One miss can be the difference between wiping, and not.

Didn't realize the dropoff was that steep, good to know. That and your comment about spur snapshotting to your current gear means I'll have to make a few changes to my routine.
