when I say multi dots, I meant dotting more than 1 target at the same time. I'll check later if what you say is true.oh, yeah summoners have all kinds of issues with the parser. It counts when i multi DoT though on my dragoon as well as my black mage. nothing ground based like shadow flare counts (archers are hurt as well). Honestly it should really just be summoners who are hit hard by the issues with the parser :-/.
We probably wont see actual accurate parsing for summoners until we get addons. They said 6 months after launch, we are at what, 3? :-/

Hardcast multidotting should "work" (minus the other bugs with DoT tracking). Bane probably doesn't.

yup, jsut tested and it doesnt count the second one. it did a long time ago (like.. a month and a half?) but also during this time i swear bane counted like it spread to 5 targets even when only one got it (our summoner would regularly do 800+ dps in less than AK level gear). i guess something fixed it and broke something else. that being said, the first 2 test were spot on accurate for the damage done including one tick critting. i guess maybe it accounts for my crit chance and averages the damage?

that could be it (on bolded part of the quote), averaging the crit chance as damage. still, lots and lots of bad things. 1405 potency ignored every minute on a single target fight on the parser a heck lot more on aoe fights.yup, jsut tested and it doesnt count the second one. it did a long time ago (like.. a month and a half?) but also during this time i swear bane counted like it spread to 5 targets even when only one got it (our summoner would regularly do 800+ dps in less than AK level gear). i guess something fixed it and broke something else. that being said, the first 2 test were spot on accurate for the damage done including one tick critting. i guess maybe it accounts for my crit chance and averages the damage?
how accurate are these parsers? are they as accurate when they are measuring your own dps as they are measuring your team mates dps?
twice now i have been told that a tank is doing a higher dps than me, a dragoon. and although i am open to admiting that it is my fault, i dont think that it is. i have a good rotation cause i got it from theorycrafters, and my gear is good. it might be because us melee dps have to dodge so much where as tanks deal damage uninterrupted, but i have no way of proiving this.

1. The parsers are pretty good for direct-damage heavy classes like Dragoons. The parsers are never 100% accurate due to limitations with SE's combat logs.
2. I have seen multiple Dragoons parse for really, really, really crappy damage. You could be one of them.
3. The key here is to observe your parse over multiple fights. If you get one random parse with like 80 DPS ... whatever. If you get 8 parses in a row where you are alive for the entire time and hacking away at the target, and you are still getting 75-90 DPS every parse ...
You bad.
Also unless they fixed it after every fight you need to reset the parser. If its not reset the parse will be completely off.

I think something that will help is knowing how much dps you were doing whne the tank beat you? I have a friend who (DL geared warrior) can finish 5 man fights with over 200 dps. He beats "okay" player pugs often
