In patch 2.1 we will be making a few adjustments to pet hotbars and abilities, starting with being able to hide the pet hotbar for mouse and keyboard users and addressing the use of pet actions for macros.
We're looking into various adjustments, but did want to clarify that we have no plans to implement a gambit style system for pets.

That's a shame, as it makes SCH healing needlessly tedious and would certainly set SCH apart from a typical pet class in any other MMO.

I don't mind pet micromanagement when DPSing, but the fluidity takes a huge hiccup when Eos starts popping Whispering Dawn when I DON'T FREAKING WANT HER TO WD.

Ah, but that's the trick, isn't it?

The fairies already feel like they run on their own 'gambits'. Does anyone get that vibe? Here's my 'attempt' at how they use their spells...assuming that they are on Sic.

    Eos:

    Ally: Owner HP<70% - Embrace
    Ally: HP<70% - Embrace
    Ally: HP<90% - Whispering Dawn
    Self: HP<70% - Embrace
    Self: HP<90% - Whispering Dawn
    Ally: Any - Fey Illumination
    Ally: Any - Fey Convenant

    Selene:

    Ally: Owner HP<70% - Embrace
    Ally: HP<70% - Embrace
    Self: HP<70% - Embrace
Foe: Skill Casting - Silent Dusk
    Ally: Any - Fey Glow

Would this mean that we might be able to turn off certain pet abilities? Like to turn off Shockwave (the knockback one) in dungeons or Ifrit's stunning ability? That would be super helpful in dungeons .

Finally. Eos and Selene skills will take only 4 slots instead of 8 if we can make macros.

    example

    /ac seleneskill <t>
    /ac eoskill <t>

if Eos is summoned it will only do the second line, if Selene is summoned it will only do the first.

If you don't want knockback use Ifrit, if you don't want stun use Garuda.
That's not really an issue. I think it's a good point, since it determines when a pet is useful and when it's not.

Some really poor but easy-to-understand examples:

Amdapor Keep 1st boss -> use Garuda-Egi to send away adds or Ifrit-Egi to occasionally stun them and do more burst damage
Hydra -> use Ifrit to avoid voids in the middle where Garuda usually stands
Ifrit fight -> use Garuda-Egi to avoid stun resistance
Trash mobs -> use Ifrit to occasionally stun them and do more burst damage (no need for contagion on them)

    and so on.
