Um... your post that I quoted was about people criticizing the idea based on blisting people for gear. You did not mention people afking, not did I debate a point you did not make. Are you trying to invent things to argue about? How is the fact that a gear check will be inplace rendering the argument moot? You don't need a single price of end game gear to run CM or praetorum for AK and WP sure that may work somewhat until you get some guy who /sit and goes to dinner while you run the dungeon without him or eat a 15 minute penalty.

I suppose it could be used for spite purposes to deny undeserving people of rewards. But that doesn't mean it would be an effective tool. It would solve little, and open the door for a LOT of abuse.

Perhaps I'm not understanding what you are saying is a moot point as you simply said 'the argument is Moot ' please be specific then about what you feel is made irrelevant by a gear check. As for the afk bit, sure it wasn't mentioned originally but this whole thread was made based on the idea that people lack the ability to behave and so we as a community need the tools to police each other to a degree. afking is simply one activity that comes to mind.

The people who are arguing against this idea because of gear. That is a moot point. I'm sure SE will make it so the minimum gear check will be adequate to clear the instance.Perhaps I'm not understanding what you are saying is a moot point as you simply said 'the argument is Moot ' please be specific then about what you feel is made irrelevant by a gear check. They need to give us more search options when joining groups .
For example , I might que for WP and request only to be grouped with players who have relic +1 etc .
I mean it would save a lot of time for people , basically I join DF , I inspect players , I quit group when I see group is weak . Then go farm FATES with alt or Craft / gathering etc for 15 mins , then try again till I get good group .
I could sit around for 30 mins and try make a good group but its just easier for me to spam DF till I get good group .
Am I the only one who considers this idea completely useless? I've DFed a lot and I've seen the same person in there ONCE. So what would be the point of BLing some random troll? The odds off me ever seeing him again are close to 0 and it still wouldn't help me in my current run where I actually want to get rid of him.
No, just give me vote to kick. Even if some people might troll with it it's still 10x better than the current system where one person can pretty much screw over the entire party.

Asking for an option that would allow you to being grouped on DF with players with X specific gear ( such as relic+1 or DL ) is probably to complicated to implement. They need to give us more search options when joining groups .

However, with the future ilvl system, having a feature that let you choose to be grouped with players from a specific ilvl range on DF could be a good option.
Lets use an example.
As it is now, lets say the required ilvl for AK is 55. ( considering the player is full WP ) Anyone with this ilvl or beyond can queue for it.
But i don't wanna play with ilvl55-60 players because theyre not geared enough for AK speedruns.
Considering im a full DL relic+1 / Myth ring WHM my ilvl could be 75 ( i have no idea actually ).
I could choose in the DF menu to only be grouped with people from the same ilvl range as me by selecting:
ilvl range 70-80
or
70-Undefined
It would guarantee that your run will be a speedrun almost every times.
And you don't have to spend your day in Mor Dhona waiting for premades anymore.

Yeah that would be pretty cool . Else they should just make harder non raid 4 man dungeon content to runAsking for an option that would allow you to being grouped on DF with players with X specific gear ( such as relic+1 or DL ) is probably to complicated to implement.

It would be also a good idea a system that rewards you based on the average ilvl of the whole group.
So let's say that the average ilvl is 500, then you get 15 "allaghan whatever" as reward, bu if the average ilvl is 400 you get 20, and so on...
There could also be an extra bonus by completion time (I mean, extra reward for longer runs).
That way there wouldn't be any reason to leave a group even if the members are "undergeared", as you'll end up receiving the same rewards.
