why cant they add some severs for Oceanic/ANZ?
why cant they add some severs for Oceanic/ANZ?
To answer that question, you will need more answers, such as:
1) How much % of this success is actually contributed from Oceanic/ANZ?
2) Is that % justifiable for all the investment/cost/human-resources/management/etc? What are the ROI in short-term and long-term? What's the %error (a.k.a risk) of this assessment? In short, "Is it worth it?".
Sometimes, it's just not as simple as ... THAT ...
And 3) Why would they make Oceanic servers before EU servers?
Assuming you're in Australia, ask your government and Telstra.
Hint: WOW would have Aussie-based servers years ago, Blizzard tried to set them up, they were happy to do so, but your country's regulations and greedy ISPs demanded far more of Blizzard than it was worth, so they didn't go ahead.
SE's earnings were better than anticipated insofar as they DIDN'T LOSE ANY MONEY. They barely turned a profit.
It's not time to start uncorking the champagne and bathing in caviar.
It was a success compared to the 1.0 release. This game, if they do not add more content, and add new server locations will be F2P in a few short years. The population is only exploding now. But even after the next content update there will still be little to no end game. And what kills new MMO's more than anything? Its when the devs forget to release the game with end game content... herp a derp a derpy derp.
