Change the F key to auto assist key

I know what you mean my view is that it is a pointless step that other games have done away with. Also that key has been vital for the majority of MMO players as the auto assist button in the MMO which shall not be named. As far as the mouseover buff/debuff and timers thing....8 months into retail and we still dont have this? Wow.

I know you're being facetious but I actually try to mouse over others buffs/debuffs all the time.

I assume you're talking about WoW? but I had no idea it had been done before (honest).

It's fng embarrassing to ask your party if they are silenced or paralyzed or what? When you're supposed to be healing them. It's also embarrassing to stop what you're doing, equip Paralyna, cast it, but just before it lands the Paralysis on everyone wears off. So yeah - some timers/descriptions with mouse over would be great.

Yeah, I'd like to point out how you say you just assume how it works. That's because you're intuitive. The game isn't. Obtuse is the raison de'tere for FFXIV.

Why would you even need tabbing?

I used (a working) F8 & /assist in XI for all my battle needs.

I know we have larger groups of monsters, so of course I'd tab for that but are you really having that big of issues? My biggest issue is "fight starts, I tab 300 monsters/players that aren't the group we're fighting, I target monster, it dies, I pull my weapon out and look like a jackass."

I'm way more concerned with that than I am sub-targeting during battle.

Try doing that as healer. Man, I only large group with my ls, or the server would hate me badly.

Edit: There should definitely be an /assist command, or atleast /target <bt> or something that makes us look at the correct enemy as leader/puller. Maybe not F key, maybe something close to it though like the G key.
