    Myth. Tomes; Chest/Helm or Chest/Gloves

So I am very indecisive... Just start doing coil; no chest drop on first run so I am going to pick up the valor chest no matter what. So just looking for some input on the 2 options; Chest/Helm/DL gloves(3def,2str,3vit) vs Chest/Gloves/Hoplite Circlet(21parry). The biggest problem I am having is deciding whether the "chance" of getting 1% extra parry is mainly worth the extra hp. Since I can't find info on how much parry it is to jump from % tiers. Ty for your time. =)

This is based off you having Dl you are replacing

If you went w/ the chest helm combo you would gain 9 def 14 str 17 vit 21 acc 17 det and lose 9 par 15 crit

If you went w/ the chest glove hop combo you would gain 6 def 12 str 14 vit 12 par17 det and lose 1 acc 15 crit

The tome amount is exactly the same.

I would probably go w/ chest / head because it provides more hp more def and more dps but, that's me.

You don't want to drop below ~475 Accuracy in Coil. As long as you can hit that, work away at whatever you feel will give you the most benefit.
Replacing the Darklight with Valor gloves will give you a pretty major Accuracy hit (-16) so just be careful!

Our FC is currently at the stage where we can clear Turn 1 every week, and are working towards getting sufficient practice at Turn 2 to down it regularly... so even if the Random Numbers smile on me I'll probably get the Allagan Body, Boots, Neck and Shield eventually from T1 but have to wait a little longer for the belt/legs/earrings and ring from T2... (let alone the Gloves/Wrists from T4 or the Head/Weapon from T5!)

I got the Hero's Ring of Fending on Week #2 (375 Tomes), and the Body yesterday (Week #4, 825 Tomes), but aside from that and my relic weapon/shield I'm in Full Darklight + the Hoplite Headgear.

Valor Chest is a nice upgrade with decent +acc, and is going to be one of the pieces you'll almost always want anyway even if you have a full Allagan Set, which is why I went for it first. I'm probably going to get the +1 Curtana next (2 weeks away, 600 tomes) because of some minor issues with Hate in T2 (we've been going left, so Tanks do 25% less damage/enmity) and what I expect from reading writeups of T4... the Valor Headgear is next on my list (495, +2 weeks), followed by the Wristband (375, +1 week) After that I'll just start working through whatever pieces I don't already have Allagan equivalents for: Gloves, Legs, Feet and other Accessories.

    Sword Upgrade = +3 Str, +4 Vit, +2 Parry, +3 Acc, +2 Damage.
    Gloves Upgrade = +6 Str, +6 Vit, +10 Parry, -16 Acc, +15 Crit, +5 Def/MDef.
    Head Upgrade = +8 Str, +9 Vit, +6 Acc, -11 Parry, +15 Crit, +4 Def/MDef.
    Wrist Upgrade = +5 Vit, +6 Parry, -12 Acc, +11 Crit.
    Legs Upgrade (Hoplite Boots) = +6 Str, +8 Vit, +4 Parry, -8 Acc, +10 Det, +2 Def/MDef.
    Legs Upgrade (Allagan Boots) = +14 Str, +17 Vit, +25 Parry, -19 Acc, +11 Det, +9 Def/MDef.
    etc. etc.

Concerning your query about Parry: don't concern yourself with it too much - the testing I've seen so far appears to suggest that 15-25 parry gives a ~1% rise in chance over time... but it's far from reliable and magic attacks (such as the ones you face in Turn 2) can't be parried or blocked. Until you get well over 6k base HP before food I'd not bother too much focussing on stacking anything other than Vit as a PLD (plus enough Acc for the turn of Coil you're on!). The only exception would be going for the +1 Sword if you have any enmity issues! After you've capped your Vit, then I'd start thinking about trading some secondary stats (like Crit and maybe Det) for extra Parry- but I'd be very wary of directly trading Vit for Parry.
