    You see it's not just your gear. There's a learning curve. My first few AK WP runs I didn't complete because I sucked and didn't know how to play! <--- See how easy that was!

    But I did these runs among friends so no big deal right.

    Then I learned to do the runs and ventured out into the Premade or DF world and all was gravy until I tried a different job. I got the same... "Learn to play idiot!" "Uninstall" "Leave"...

    There are 2 reasons for this:

    1.) I sucked and didn't know how to play my new job! <---- You see how easy that was again?
    2.) A lot of the new community is full of douchebaggery that finds being toxic is more valuable than lending a helping hand.

    Bottom line: First admit to yourself that you have some things to learn to improve your game. Second accept the fact that you're going to deal with douchebaggery unless you play among friends only.

    My solution was to come here to the forums and rather than complain about the douchebaggery that will never go away no matter what you post... I asked for some tips and got better at the job I was playing horribly.

    Now I speed run like a boss, and you will too someday my friend! So in the nicest way I can put it. Keep your head up. Keep gearing up and learn to play your job to it's limits. It's the only way to escape the toxic chat.

    Or there's always the other option. Take their advice and don't play. It's your choice, but right or wrong... the toxic players will not go away.

    - do CM till you get at 2-3 DL pieces (can be done within a day in DF);
    - do AK till you are close to full DL with some iLV90s;
    - go for Titan;
    - keep doing AK for iLv90s and search party for Coil (this is were I am atm).

    This is what I did at least because I don't wanna feel to be a burden for the rest of a party.
    In other words; Overgear the content even though we were clearing those dungeons in AF right after launch. Except for Titan, of course.

    Normal gear progression would be:

    AF -> farm WP gear for AK runs -> farm AK gear and gather tomes for Darklight for primal weapon farming -> relic weapon.

    But, since people have done WP and AK hundreds of times already, they will only want to speedrun those dungeons. In order to efficiently speedrun these dungeons, they "force" players to have geared their characters with (at least) Darklight and a Relic weapon. Even in dungeons like CM. This basically beats the purpose of the gear that drops in WP and AK.

    You will roughly have to do 32 dungeon runs to get a Darklight set without the belt and accessories. 50 runs if you want the accessories. After that you would still have to farm Primals for weapons...

    Just to be able to run WP and AK with speedrunners.

    I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous...

    People claim that others will soon understand why they speedrun in time. I have been playing since 1.0 alpha until now and have run the same dungeons as everyone else for just as long if not longer and I don't care for speedruns. I get my philosophy snd mythology by helping those who like the OP get kicked or trolled out of the dungeon.

    The game is not going anywhere so what need have I to rush? New content is a month away if not more but again I see no need to rush.

    This mentality has always existed.

    It's just that back in the old days, game companies did not promote this mentality. They designed content that needed time. Needed long term investment. Community building. Guild management.

    So even when people always looked for the most efficient way to do things, it still took time.

    But now that game companies are making "products" instead of "games", they purposefully design games to match this fast-food mindset. Hence no more 90 minute dungeons. Everything can be done easily in 30 minutes, which means it can be compressed and done in 10 minutes with an overgeared group.

    As the game companies announce that they cater to people who have fragmented play times, speed running and efficiency become the "right" way to do things.

    Again, just for emphasis: this kind of thing have always existed, they just wasn't popular enough because game designs back then made it impossible.

    A lot of it had to do with the tools available for gamemaking. Today content can be created/tested/implemented faster than 10 years ago. Most game engines don't have such strict restrictions anymore etc. They had to limit the progress in order to keep players busy until the next content was ready to be released.

    *edit* Sure you can argue that in the past content didn't have to be created with hd textures in mind and so much surface details But still game developement has come a long way.

    You don't need Darklight to do Ifrit and Garuda.

    Just checked OP's gear. If that's what you were wearing during this incident, then I completely understand where they are coming from. Level 30 jewelry? Come on...

    Duty finder is lazy. Duty finder hurts the social structure of a servers community. Duty finder is easy. Duty finder is all inclusive.

    Save yourself the headache, join a FC. Why do people have this issue? Why do people feel the need to play a MMO as a solo player? The people in duty finder are either other people who don't like other people or people who are in a FC looking for a 4th for a dungeon or something or a partial team using duty finder to fill.

    Then people want to come back and complain how people in duty finder don't treat them with respect? Cmon man, you can't go put yourself out there like that and expect to not be treated like a piece of meat.

    I guess this is part of the beauty of being a tank.

    I'm not quite there at 50 yet but right now I'm imagining it kinda like this:

    DPS: Oh great... low hp tank noob, plz just leave
    Me: You're a mere DPS so whaeva ya know whaddaiymean.
    Me: I got instant queue time and I'm gonna do this dungeon a lot so don't be hatin'
    Me: As the wise philosophers of Bodybuilding.com would say: u mirin' brah?

    Well, at least that's how I want to handle the filthy DPS peasants but I haven't quite figured out what to say if it's a healer.
