    In FFXI, XP/hour was a huge thing whether meriting or leveling. If groups didn't meet a certain number they usually let the weakest link know about it - after an hour of bitching about it in linkshell chat. Nice try though. Claim wars weren't exactly as community building or "take your time" as you think, either. And I only played up until Aht Urgahn. From what I understand the speed mentality in XI only got worse when FoV and Abyssea hit. The one time I did go back I couldn't get a single person to take a little time to help me get my level 50 limit item (after it took only 2 nights of FoV parties to get level 50). I don't like the "Go go go!" mentality either, but c'mon man, take off the blinders. It existed/exists in our beloved FFXI just as badly.

    Edit: Not to mention what Grundy mentions above. Not the "right" job/job combination? Not in the right gear? Not eating the right food? Not invited.
