Why Allagan cane is 2handed ? (WHM weapon)

I was wondering what's the reason to put Ancient Shield as a loot from Turn 5 and usable by Whitemage , in fact the weapon that drop from Turn5 is also 2handed

The blm and whm shield haven't been found in game. So we are not even sure if they are actually in game yet.

Yeah, I understand that, but why is it in the game? No other class has access to 2 weapon choices, seems like wasted effort, especially since (looking at the model) the best weapons are both 2-handers.

I don't know why would SE put a CNJ WHM shield AND a 2h Cane, but I personally love canes and hate wands so I prefer things like they are now ^^

The shield doesn't appear to come from Turn 5, from everything I've dug up on it anyway.

It's possible that the shield appears in game files that were datamined, and will go with another item later one. We don't know what the loot tables in Crystal Tower are, and it's possible there's a one-handed weapon in there for WHM that goes with said shield. It's also possible that the shield will drop in one of the later turns of Coils that we can't yet access.

It's also possible that they decided late into development not to bother with the mage shield and just make the mage weapons 2-handed, but the files are still in there for it.

Yeah, I think so too. I mean, look at all the unused shit that they found in the FF Type-0 ISO image file for PSP! Nearly half of the files were unused!
