The other problem with SCH is that the final boss of Brayflox is really really awful with one and it is unfortunately the first real dungeon you are likely able to use it. Do-able, but it is rough as hell.

Between Stoneskin, Regen, Medica II, Eye for an Eye, and Virus I can move around quite freely without fear of the tank getting smashed while I am busy dealing with mechanics

WHM's blow. They are just a bad class. They cant mitigate damage, they cant increase their healing potential on the fly and when things get mobile they have a hard time healing. In almost every situation a SCH is better. Most whms dont know how to use their skills.

Now how did you feel reading that? Pretty angry? Thats what sch's feel like every time a whm or any other player makes offhand comments about how inferior they think scholars are. Learn to appreciate what the other class can do that you cant. Does that scholar really suck? Well its not the job its the player. /rant

OP, how do I feel? I feel that you are ignorant. How does that make you feel?

The only WHMs that piss me off are the ones that I have to put up with while levelling my alt classes. They are the worst because they are arrogant (not the way you use it, I mean, truly arrogant) they DPS, cast stoneskin and Cure 2 instead of keeping the tank topped up. And then they run OOM during trash encounters and force the party to wait for them just because they are stupid enough to DPS when they have such a small MP pool.

Oh well, WHM heals a lot, SCH heals a less but buffs and dps well, and has a fairy that helps him.
Never heard of "everyone has his own skills"?
If someone says that SCH are inferior, well, he/she really, really, REALLY a lot ignorant and they should try before they talk.
Most of people comparing class and saying "which is better" are ignorant dps that just know how to spam attacks and don't bother too much in looking at the effort everyone - EVERYONE - else puts in doing his job.
Learn this, you might become a good player.

Only people who never played a SCH would say that
I'm a WHM ( Main ) and a SCH As a secondary class
I like both ! Both of them make a really good combo WHM Burst healing & SCH Shields and Fairy buffs makes the best healing experience despite the fact that a SCH doesn't need that much of mana compared to WHM.

SCH is not inferior to a WHM in a WHM/SCH setup.
SCH is not inferior to WHM in a 4man setting.

The reason why people think SCH sucks is because:
1)Alot of people are bad at managing Eos/Selene
2)Scholars have more options than WHMs, and new players don't know which choices to make.
3)SCH/SCH is the worst healing combination. (This doesnt actually have to do with the Scholars power though. If WHM regen/medica2 didn't stack, SCH/SCH would be much more common)

Scholars have way more mana regen than WHMs, they can spot heal better, they can offer more utility than WHMs, and they pull less aggro. Eos/Selene also count as an extra person on Twintania fireballs, which is a nice little perk as well. For sure, SCH has its strong points.

I can tell you as someone who exclusively does turn 1-5 coil with SCH/WHM, and did titan back when it was challenging exclusively with sch/whm, that WHM/WHM is far inferior to SCH/WHM. Whenever I get in a position where I have to run WHM/WHM, the run is always far harder on me than if I were to run SCH/WHM.
