A request from European players.

Would it be possible, considering that you have an entire building with staff in London, England, to put our EU servers there... instead of Canada?

The base lag from sending information that far already makes ALL EU players feel it, and it's unacceptable from a game which we are paying a monthly fee for.

With a tunnelling service I went from 170ms to 120ms and my connection is pretty stellar on my end. I am happy about reducing my ping that much but at the end of the day anything over 100+ doesn't feel right with me, considering I get under 30ms with games like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars II and dozens of other games.

There have been times where I've been expecting an attack (red circle) to spawn under me only to move as soon as it appears and get hit by the said attack. It happens now and then and it sometimes causes wipes.
I'm not sure if the US players experience the following but it's next to impossible to hit a moving targets as a melee, even waiting for the target to run past you will only initiate 1/4 of the animation before being cancelled.

I support this fully since it's unfair that I need to resort to a tunnelling service to partially mend my connection to a "EU" server that is currently stationed in Canada.

Strongly agree with topic starter - in a prime time game perfomance often unacceptable for european players. Its may not so important for low level content but i cant imagine succesfull hi-level raiding and any sort PvP with such lags.

In all seriousness though... If you whip out your trusty google earth... you will clearly see that Canada is a part of North America and thus is unfit to host servers for European connections.

I understand the premise may have been that due to the game's design, top notch latency would not be strictly necessary and this - to an extent - is true. Regardless, the delays we're dealing with now lead to absolutely abysmal responsiveness and degraded experience.

Gameplay becomes clunky, unpredictable and downright stiff when you're exposed to issues such as inability to hit moving monsters with melee attacks, monsters reacting to threat change and relocating accordingly after as much as several seconds, cancelled casts still going through for another half a second, all sorts of issues with directional attacks & facing - it's a mess vaguely reminiscent of driving a car with a flat tire. I imagine some of it may have to do with poor quality of the game's net code, but I hope it's not the case.

Subjective comfort notwithstanding, running a risk of failing to avoid an AoE effect due to lag alone in a game laced with such mechanics is a critical flaw.

Oh on a different note - this thread's topic is so ambiguous that it doesn't really say anything at all. That won't really bring any views.

The reality that SE didn't made any servers in EU leads me to opinion that they are so moneyhungry, that they don't even care if their game is playable or not. If I knew that there are no real EU servers, I wouldn't buy this game.. and here I am, progressing Coil T2 with lags.. -.-

If I recall right, during initial server trouble, where SE's resources turned out to be grossly inadequate, they commented that the interest in the game far exceeded their expectations. This might be why EU was given such cold treatment. It doesn't really justify the ongoing situation though.

Yes, I know that.. but that was 2 months ago.
If they tried, we would have our own EU servers in a few weeks.

Agreed here! We need this, I don't want to have to spend another monthly fee just to play this game with no lag! We need European servers that are actually in Europe!
