Is this thread serious? (I feel like I ask this question a lot.)

Energy Drain is a 150 potency attack.
Fester caps at 300 potency (assuming single target ofc).
That plus ED's cooldownless flexibility helps it to fit into burst-damage scenarios arguably better than Fester.

Buy some ethers and ED every now and then. Trust me. You're not losing that much if you ED every 2nd or 3rd Aetherflow or so; it is 825 potency's worth of damage per Aetherflow rather than 900.

You'll have a damn hard time proving what's acceptable and what's unacceptable as far as a DPS loss goes without giving some kind of verifiable proof, i.e. parses. And since there isn't a parser out there that isn't inaccurate at least to some degree... well... GL.

Mana problems... Hahahahahahahahaha.

You asking to have a Foe's Requiem dropped in favor of mana because you ADAMANTLY REFUSE to Energy Drain is a FAR larger DPS loss for you and for your group than just using the damn drain - and that's assuming a 4 man comp with you being the only member benefiting.

Maybe it's because the scrolling combat text is inadequate, but are you sure fester afflicts all dotted targets and not just the one selected? Pretty sure it's just the one.

Fester is definitely only single target. Anyone suggesting otherwise has never used the ability.

I was not actually. I had noticed it seemed not to impact other targets' health bars quite so much but I had difficulty being sure. (I don't even see combat text anymore. Look right past it.)

Either way, the point still stands.
