I think Ninja should never be a Tank. It contradicts that they're suppose to be stealthy assassins.
Necromancer can come from Ul'dah. Its lore with Sil'dah, and Black Mage storyline seems connected.
Server's down so might as well. BST and BLU coming from the same class (not sure on name of class yet). The class would have almost all of its abilities as monster summon instead of charming monsters out in the field. I feel that it should be this way because they would need to be able to have pets inside dungeons and I dont think it would be feasible to make sure each dungeon has monsters to tame and even then the class's repertoire would be totally dependent on the dungeon. I dont think we will be having jugs like in ffxi to summon pets for a time either because yoship seems to be reluctant on making pure combat players be reliant on crafters (2much stress) and it'll consume inventory slots if the class doesnt have a special inventory for it. So it would be something like, at lvl 1 the class would summon a marmot and then make the marmot use skills to fight, lvl 4 gain a spell to summon a bee, lvl 12 gain a spell to summon an opo2, with the monster going stronger as he levels up plus some pet support skills. Similar to a SMN i suppose, but full focus on pets instead of dots and pets.
Then at 30 it splits into BST or BLU. Beast master would be a tank class and gain abilities to enhance their pets. Stuff like a quick switch control where the player can control the pet before returning to his character control, pet stats enhancing, healing, enmity control (hopefully juggling and sharing instead of straight multiplier like pld and war for variety's sake), etc, hopefully becoming a much bet pet tanker than a smn with titan. He'd need to use his toughest pet if he want it to tank of course.
Blue mage will be a dps class. It will lose the class's summoning skills and gain blank spells. For example, if the blu presses an attack spell and then presses the class's wyrm summon spell, he will cast a fire breath. if he presses a marlboro summon spell, he casts bad breath instead. The BLU will have a blank attack, buff, debuff, heal spell (plus a long cooldown at 50) that can be mix and matched with the monster buttons to cast monster spells. Can be done in reverse where the blue mage would press a monster summon skill first to channel its spirit and then press his spell button to cast it.
Gladiator: Anyone who has seen Raubahn, knows he has a shield and 2 swords. A Myrmidon with dual wielding.
Marauder: Dark Knight, Mar regains hp and has a high hp pool. Dark knight would have a a high hp pool and use skills that burn hp to use.
Pugilist: Either a blink off tank or a support status effect class like dancer.
Archer: With the BRD nerf coming, the next step will be RNG which will have increased damage based on range and other factors.
Lancer: Centurion/Spartan Spear and shield off tank. With a unique set of skills similar to shield oath and sword oath.
Thaumaturge: Already has a decent damage dealer job, I think Red Mage will be the most likely candidate, using spells like En-element and Null-element. They will have to bring back elemental damage types.
Conjurer: Elementalist or Geomancer.
Just my thoughts as a person whose opinion is worth nothing on the internet.
Why is everyone saying DRK will come off MRD? I thought Yoshi already said it's planned to be GLA's secondary Job, as it's the virtual opposite to PLD (DD instead of tank) and compliments it well. And for that matter DRK has rarely relied upon great axes (although they could use some in FFXI, it wasn't their best weapon type), meaning DRK wouldn't suit MRD even more.
As for GLA/RDM GLA has no natural magic of it's own, save for Flash, it would have to be altered with secondary spells to lead into RDM, meaning existing abilities would have to be scrapped - it's just too much of a problem.

Ninja was pretty much forced into the tank spot by players due to their Utsusemi spell line and because Paladin was the only effective tank at the time RotZ came out.
Its that little kid in people that want to play a full fledged DD and smack things around with a big weapon. And there's nothing wrong with that. Why is everyone saying DRK will come off MRD? I thought Yoshi already said it's planned to be GLA's secondary Job, as it's the virtual opposite to PLD (DD instead of tank). Besides, as GLA has no natural magic of it's own, save for Flash, how would it be explained away that suddenly they gain a ton of spells? And for that matter DRK has rarely relied upon great axes (although they could use some in FFXI, it wasn't their best weapon type).
Allowing the use of additional magic after a certain level is no more of a problem then adding a bunch of healing abilities after level 30 (SCH).Why is everyone saying DRK will come off MRD? Yoshi never said DRK would come from GLA, just that he wanted to do it. It would make very little sense to do given that the only other dual job we have seen shares the same weapon type. This is much easier to program AND to model.
I actually want to see a DRK come from GLA and wield one handed swords with no shields. Like dissidia Cecil's design. Granted, he wields it like a two hander iirc, but it was pretty much a short pointy stick. Can just turn halone combo's enmity into extra damage (at the cost of hp?).
The rest would be drk skills costing mp (hp drain attacks to compensate for halone's hp cost?) with riot blade to keep mp up plus a new finisher for the riot blade line.To make it even more suicidal like the typical DRK, make the 3rd attack after riot really desirable but add a position requirement...from the front. DRK's death rate should give arr's dragoons a run for their money.
