    New Class Possibilities

    So after the letters from the producers there is a goal to have each class have two Jobs and also the possibility for Jobs to require having multiple classes to level 50. Here is what I would expect to see and why.

    Gladiator is going to get the Job of Redmage as a DPS and have a BLM/WHM requirement.

    Marauder will get Dark Knight class and have a BLM requirement. They could bring in a Viking as well for a DPS class.

    Pugilist would get a NIN and could be a tank, but most likely a DPS. Could also be a Thief but would guess based on weapon choice it being a NIN.

    Archer would get Theif and would give them a knife as a off hand weapon. Another one to keep with the them of the world would be to be a DPS Job as a Gunner.

    Lancer would probably be the hardest to have another class that uses lances. I would guess a tank class, but would guess as a DPS as something like a Beast master.

    Archanist already has two classes but would hope for more options with the different summons to try and adjust to what the fights need.

    Thaumaturge would get another DPS as a Blue Mage, but this could be another job for Gladiator as another Tank class.

    Conjurer would be one that Geomancer would fit well with.

    Other classes that would be fun to see would be the Onion Knight, Sage, Mystic Knight, Samurai. Some ideas might need a whole new class, but could also add job specific weapons to help ease the need to level a whole new class to max in the future.

    I think the point is to give each class a job that is NOT its original intention. (e.g.: Arcanist-> SMN is DPS but Arcanist -> SCH is healing)
    GLD-> RDM DPS + healing perhaps dot (ala Arcanist but single target) why?-> cause RDM uses a sword... duh and everyone and their mom wants it
    MRD-> DRK DPS why? -> cause They use axes and making "Axes" that look like 2H-Swords or Scythes would just be an aestetic change
    CNJ-> BST Pet Class (wait.. what?) they are already nature based... not hard to make happen or Geomancer (makes sense for the same reason)
    ARC -> RNG could be Tank Pet Class
    THM-> I could see Blue mage ala Strego but since they are already DPS I think they would want to make the second class Healer or Tank so not sure how that would work
    LNC-> (Pole) Dancer. Im not even kidding here. Tank Class or interesting Melee Healer; could also do Samurai... would be a wierd choice thematically but Samurai use spears and katanas are two handed so not much change there... likely still a tank
    MNK-> Hard one, right? I'm thinking ninja Blink Tank (Huh?!) well they could just make dual katanas a weapon that is essentially H2H... also stays with the Martial arts theme
    I think you will see THF as a job on a new class like: Musketeer-> THF or COR
    wouldn't mind seeing "Chemist" either. I know we have alchemist but it would be cool to have a job that actually uses the alchemy potions for stuff on a regular basis to give it a better market for sales. (basically using them instead of MP)

    anyways... my musings as a game developer ^^b

    if that job comes out someone will surely make a 300 man fc with all spartans as their jobs..

    we already know for a fact the first class coming is musketeers.
    we know for a fact Yoshi wants Thief->Ninja after that.
    in others, be thankful, don't expect it.

    I think you mean new Jobs, OP. Classes are the base class, the thing you are when you don't have a soul crystal equipped.

    Nit picking aside, I'm hoping a Puppetmaster in the same vein as the Puppetmaster from XI is given to the Pugilist (Puppetmasters in XI fought with hand-to-hand weapons, Mammets are the Automatons of XIV, and they're made by a join effort between the Alchemist and Goldsmithing Guild, which are both in Ul'dah along with the Pugilist guild). If anything comes out of the Conjurer, it should be the Geomancer, which just makes all kinds of sense. Since we know Musketeer is coming, I'm hoping with every onze in my body that the Corsair comes from it (Corsairs being pirates in XI, and Limsa Lominsa is THE pirate city of XIV).

    And well... *coughPerformercough*... Because Thief is an iconic, classic Final Fantasy job, and those you get when you equip that soul crystal. It should never be what you tend to forget exists once you hit level 30. If anything, Thief and Ninja should be unique jobs that branch from the same base class.

    I love making up stuff like this, we did a lot of posts in the beta forums about the possibilities.

    Current classes:
    GLD:PLD and Lunarian (DD job, heavily moon based in style, abilities lore)
    MRD: WAR and Berserker (DD job, added enfeebling effects, focus on single target)
    LNC: DRG and Comradier (DD job, similar to bard, can bring out extra abilities in other members by sacrificing some DD)
    PUG: MNK and Black Belt (Tank job, focuses on defense like PLD)
    ARC: BRD and Ranger (duh, straight up DD focused, most people are still unhappy with brd, even though its pretty good)
    CNJ: Whm and Geomacer: (DD with elemental pets of water earth wind)
    THM: BLM and Necromancer (DD with darkness minion, drains to heal party, and dark attacks)
    ACN: SCH and SMN


    The future holds other classes and jobs possibilites:

    Musketeer DD with a heal and stat effects: with jobs "Corsair" and "puppetmaster" (Cor could be healer or DD with gambling buffs, and pup could also be either)
    Flayer (whips) DD like blue mage: with jobs blue mage and Dancer (blue mage DD and Dancer healer)
    Scout (dual blades) DD with stealth and positioning: with jobs NIN and THF (nin focuses on ninjuitsu and stealth/darkness can be DD or tank, thf focuses on steal/mug/sneak attack/evasion etc DD)
    Fencer (degans/fleurets) DD that is magic based: with jobs RDM and MYS (red mage would be healer with damage potential, and mystic knight could be DD)
    Breaker (hammers) all around DD: with jobs Freelancer and GRN (Freelancer would be tank, and green mage would be a buff focused healer)
    Ronin (Large katana) Tank class: with jobs Samurai and Culler (Samurai could be DD or tank, and Culler could be a demon focused Tank)
    Vagrant (Greatsword) DD class: with jobs Dark Knight and Rune knight (DRK would be DD and Rune knight would be tank)
    Wilder (axes) DD class: with jobs BST and Technomancer (beastmaster is DD with pets and technomancer is job that harnesses allagan tech to enhance pt members and DD)

    While I don't care if they do any of this they have soooo much freedom with the armory, they can do w/e they want, and bring out traditional FF jobs/class and invent whole new things.

    Just wanna say that I hope Dual Wield is cross-class cause I REALLY wanna dual wield guns on Musketeer.

    Dual Wielding guns while not the most accurate way to go still looks incredibly awesome.







    Can I have it PLEASE! Two of my favorite characters ever!
