i can see a few big issues with housing

from the impression i got from the live letter housing is going to be finite and to further compound this deeds to land wont expire, so i can see a few issues with this. one i can easlly see rmt buying as much land as they can and then selling it for real money when they have a majority control of land, while sure square could combat this one but it does not seem like they have invested in the man power to fight the rmt's (i'm sure you have seen the bots going for hours with no interference) i hope i'm wrong but thats my impression. two, people buy land and quit the game and never sell it which will result in over time a stagnation of the land sells and eventually to the point where nobody can use it. the third issue i could see is groups that are not rmt buying up land and doing nothing with it to drive the costs sky high and making it where nobody can enjoy it making a fun and "major" feature rendered unusable to the majority of the players.

1. it is not finite, it's finite per zone. Aka, once a zone is bought up, another zone appears.

2. There is nothing to suggest you can resell land to other players, and everything suggest otherwise, as you buy it from the game. Getting rid of the land probably just means giving it back to the game for the game to resell.

3. housing is a money sink, there is no reason for rmt to buy it. They probably will just try to craft furniture for money.

4. people need to stop panicking about things that aren't even out yet.

I was under the impression there wasn't a limit on housing? Once a block fills up, they just have another neighborhood.

RMT will not buy housing. It destroys millions of gil. RMT are in the business of creating it, not destroying it. There's also the part where it takes a while to form and rank up a free company (you can be sure the new ranks will take longer to achieve) and no real RMT account would last long enough to play the housing market.

Also, housing is not really finite, when an instance is filled up, a new one iwll be opened.

it was in the interview for the ppl who havent seen it, there is a finite number of land and multiple instance for them and yoshi or i think the housing guy said they would increase the instance depending on the server~
