PC system issues...

I don't have the greatest setup due to money constraints, but it is an ok rig. The performance I get is not great. I run 45 fps in good spots. NPC's lag out, mobs pop up much later than I arrive, skills activate but I dont see them on screen. I'm not super tech savy so what do I need to get better play? Is is Lag or performance?

Your CPU is pretty slow and very outdated, this looks to be performance related.

When it comes to gaming, a significant part is the video card. That 550Ti is decent for expected moderate graphic performance, but FFXIV is a rather intense game. Your issue with NPCs lagging out or mobs popping up later is only a graphical thing if everything else is equally lagged. For example, if your character is moving fine, it's likely not a graphics thing. You'll notice graphical problems easily, as it usually involves a lot of stuttering (seems like your screen froze for a second or so). Some exceptions, but yeah... in this case, if your character seems to be fine, it's likely to be lag rather than performance.

Yes it's not a powerhouse as I've been saving up for that. Just wanted to know where I should look for the short term fix. Got at least another 2 months before I can drop 2k on one. Plan on building my own. Thanks for the insight though!
