Fully melded I 70 Crafted vs I 90 allagan/myth

ok so i recently got a allagan ring of striking for my mnk but im in a pinch cause i cant decide whenever it is actuly better then my current HQ crafted ring.
Allagan ring of striking:
13 str
16 acc
8 det
Gryifonskin ring HQ
9 str
9 dex
12 acc
9 skill speed
MELDS
Vit+8
crit +12
det +8

using the i 90 i win 4 str and 4 acc but lose 12 crit 8 VIT 9 skill speed.
my current stats WITHOUT 1 ring slot are
Str:442 Vit:362 Acc:487 Crit:467 Det:252 SS:507

some advice reagarding this dilema would be nice or few links do simliliar discusions,

If you aren't in desperate need for the VIT, I'd suggest going with the iLvl 90 stuff, as the amount of secondary stats gained from Materia usually doesn't make up for the loss in your primary stat (which does far more for your DPS than any of your secondary stats).

For raw DPS the Ring of Striking is better by 4.1% without even counting the 4 Acc difference, which would increase the difference to 7.5% if you could pick up other stats elsewhere to trade for the Acc.

The only reason you'd use the crafted ring is for the Vit.

From DPS point of view, they are almost the same. Your acc is enough. 8 vit could be death or alive some time.

How is a difference of 4 points in your main stat almost the same? As said, if you really need that VIT then by all means go with the crafted ring, otherwise the iLvl 90 ring is far superior.

While 4 points may seem like a small difference at first glance, you should know that in this game even small increases have quite some impact. And if you always pick your gear like that it quickly adds up. As I always said in my previous favorite MMO (Lotro, where stats and gear weren't half as meaningful as here): "The sum of small changes makes up for a noticeable difference"

In addition, just so you're aware: 4 ACC is equally as "meh" as 4 Skill Speed.

I don't know the exact stat weights for the Monk but I assume they are in the same ballpark as for the Dragoon in which case 1 point of strength is worth ~6.5 points of crit/skill speed. Simple math will tell you that 4 points of strength do more for your DPS than 12 crit and 9 skill speed combined.

I would say that the allagan is always a better option, higher base stats when added up make a huge difference. The only exception would be WAR which needs STR and the tank rings dont provide it.

First the simplification:
4 Str vs. 8 Vit, 12 crit, 9 skill speed

You're already over accuracy cap, and I don't think you're going to re-arrange based on 4 accuracy difference. So that's why accuracy ignored.

Personally, I'd take the crafted because I like HP. But if you're into purely doing more damage and ok with the smaller HP, then take the allagan.

Skill speed is tiny difference and unless the fight is short just getting you out of TP faster anyway. 12 Crit is fine, but less damage value than 4 STR I think.
