    So? XI's start date has nothing to do with whether it was a success or not. XI's success has everything to do with it being appealing to the audience it needed to be appealing for. From what I've seen, the FFMMO audience is more interested in whether the game has a good story than if it has PvP.

    The only PVP (RvR) I've actually enjoyed in an MMO was in Warhammer, it was heaps of fun but ultimately suffered from waning server populations. I did maybe an hour or two of Ballista in XI.

    Seems like we might get something like RvR with the GC's. Hopefully they don't waste the opportunity and give us something lame like a simple party vs party arenas (looking at you SWTOR). If I wanted micro PvP I'd go and play DotA.

    PvP will have totally different skills and such, as long as they stick with that plan I think it will be fine...

    However , if they don't fix that .3 sec delay stuff...PvP won't be much fun lol.

    And PVP in FFXI WAS a thing back then. Does no one remember Ballista Royale? It just died down when they started releasing heaps of expansions and new gears and what not. "Why play PVP when theres no rewards?" I just hope it's bigger than 8v8.

    You're in luck, the chance of FFXIV's pvp being worthwhile is pretty low.

    I hope you all keep your cameras zoomed out, that may solve any issues you experience in pvp in the future.

    I'll be participating in PvP, and I hope to see all you carebears on the Frontline battlefield.

    As far as I understand, The Wolves Den is for casual PvP matches, while Frontline is RvR.

    With that said, my only wish is for Yoshi-P to create a meaningful PvP system unlike Ballista. It was fun but there was no incentive to keep playing it.

    Clearly, PvP was not in their minds when the game was designed from the start.
    Or it was a massive oversight (which might be it - I believe that was called "1.0").

    But I see some class skills that looks like PvP orientated skills.
    So it may be that PvP is for the expansion after level cap is raised opening up Lvl 50+ skills, which may be PvP stuff.
    Dividing the game into Lv1-50 PvE & Lv51+ PvP?

    Bottom line is, good PvP content is good.
    But no expectations until further official notice.
