Dungeon AFK Feature in 2.1 Suggestions

There has been alot of talk about this feature and how to remove players that go AFK. Yoshi-P has been adamant about not implementing a Vote-to-Kick feature within the game, due to the possibility of it being abused. As we all know, the AFK Feature will probably be bypassed by players who auto-run, or have macro's that continually press an ability for them while they stand in 1 spot not helping the rest of the party.

Here are some suggestions to work around AFK abuse.

    1. Make it enmity based: So if a player doesn't work their way into the aggro table during fights, after a certain time there is an auto-boot function. This ensures that the player can't just auto-run into a wall or spam a macro near the entrance to stay out from AFK. Make it so they have to do damage and healing if other party members are also damaging and healing, start the counter.

    2. Vote AFK: Party members vote for someone that is AFK, then a window pops up confirming whether that person is AFK. The AFK person needs to hit a confirmation window to make sure they're not AFK or they get booted. This prevents the auto-run into the wall thing and also ability macro spam. There might be ways around this, but other than that, that's all I could think of.

If anyone else has suggestions, put them down below or let the devs know what you think.

What if player isn't AFK and gets into the aggro table during fights but simply doesn't do anything but run around? You can't do nothing to kick him with the options you suggested.

The second one seems better but can also be abused by AFK players. They can babysit their macros, have their game in windowed mode and click confirm on the AFK pop up.. It's a hard thing to get right.

After a certain amount of time the aggro table should reset.

I know what you're saying though -> Someone goes up and hits 1 mob, putting them on the aggro table for the rest of the dungeon, preventing them from ever being AFK again. But -> the aggro table should reset for the AFK counter after a certain amount of time, depending on when battle begins by the other members of the party.

    But wait.

How would they get into the aggro table and run around? Then they wouldn't really be AFK, and why would anyone do that instead of just fight? People want to go AFK, because they don't want to actually do anything at all. There's no real point in just running around and always putting yourself in the aggro table, you might as well just fight normally.

You can't get rid of a so-called 'AFK' guy with anything but a vote-kick because you'll find out these guys really aren't that AFK. They're more like Wally in Dilbert who is useless but not incompetent. They're quite capable of doing whatever it takes to remain useless.
