People complaining about bugs ruining their playtime, now people are complaining about the maintenance times to help fix those bugs?I am going to have to agree that this maintenance thing is getting out of hand. Is their game THAT broken that they have to bring the servers down two to three times a week? And no, complaining about it is not pointless or the issue of the user. This is a paid service and as paying customers there is a right to be upset and convey that dissatisfaction to the provider. If they don't have the skin to take it when their customers are upset perhaps Square should get into another business.
I don't think it's SE that needs to change..
I'm not sure why people keep associating the complaint of too many maintenance's in a short amount of time with not wanting bugs fixed.
We want issues resolved, we just don't want them fixing it one at a time every night for 2-4 hours. If it's not an emergency, they are okay with the bug being live for the next 24 hours already, why not just wait another day or two and do one day of maintenance instead of five?

You just answered ur own question, bugs should be fixed as soon as it's seen, i agree it shouldn't take a maintenance, something like a rolling-restart should suffice but it's not going to happen anytime soon with a young game.
When exactly is this no longer a "new game". Since its not two months, is it three? Four? Should we expect a stable game in half a year? Next year? Perpetual please look forward to it? The acceptance of mediocrity on these forums is so strange.
Bugs should not be fixed as soon as they are seen, and what you bolded has no bearing on when we want issues resolved. Based on the fact that they don't take the servers down immediately to fix an issue, but schedule it for one to two days out, we already know they are okay with those issues being live for several days. Let those issues stay for another couple of days and do just one maintenance window a week like every other MMO (yes, even the new ones out side of real emergencies).
By the way, what issues have they resolved in the past five maintenance's? Looks like they've just been fixing Coil Turn 5, which is just a small subset of the player base already.
Ya, Dont fix the game with a maintenance, just leave it broken so things get worse and worse. You might do those fixes during a time where someone might want to play somewhere in the world. Its a tragedy.
The unique culture of MMO environments requires that MMO managers work in a paradox. Customers Challenge the employees to meet tough deadlines while providing excellence in customer service. Foster change yet provide a consistent work environment. Promote continuous improvement yet mitigate risks.

Look at the dates for the maintenances, minus the emergency maintenances Turn 5 and some exploits caused, they are pretty far apart

This isn't a emergency maintenance, it's the regular maintenance and it was announced ahead of time on the site.
The post was up on 11/2 so like you said yourself, it was posted 2 days in advanced as well.11/02/2013 10:08 PM

I know 12am is so late, how on earth will I do turns 1-4 in that 3 hours I have.
That's what Ive been saying. But, unfortunately Square Enix chooses to do a 4 hour maintenance like every other night. During most people's play time. With little to no information on what the hell they actually fixed. I know it has to be done, but, it's excessive and very annoying.
