War in Turn 4

I leveled a PLD and switched to using PLD for Turn 4 because it didn't seem worth the extra hassle to be WAR for Turn 4.

I also found being PLD was much easier in Turns 1 and 2 than being WAR. Now that I have both tank classes at 50, I can choose to be lazy and be PLD and make it much easier for myself and my party. You don't get any medals for doing it the hard way in MMOs.

Many have done this and if your group is good/cool they will let you take all the War gear for later.

Warrior is great for OT turn 4. I'm 50 pal/war and it is the only time in coil that i am warrior. Warriors are perfect for the bug phases with overpower locking everything into place and doing good damage, the only challenging part being I guess wave 5 where the knight/soldier/rook/bug pop and you'll take a lot of damage. As long as you kite though it's easy.

As to wraith stacks wearing off. I save retalation and sometimes berserk for wave 5. If my wraith gets down to below 5 seconds, remember those 2 abilities give you a wraith stack and renew the timer. Between Infuriate, retaliation and berserk your wraith should never wear off.

We use two PLD, but I think you can substitute a WAR for the OT using our method.

Phase 5:
We have OT grab Knight/Soldier, MT on Dreadnaught. All our DPS burns the Dreadnaught down while OT holds Knight/Soldier.

Phase 6:
MT grabs new Dreadnaught, OT grabs Rook, both tanks HG. While tanks are immune, BLM grabs Soldier and kites, a BRD feeds spider to Dreadnaught, melee DPS LB's knight and both BRD help burn knight down.

Both heals can focus on the dps atm since tanks are immune. Since you want to try with WAR OT, you can try kiting at this point instead since you'll easily have hate by now on knight/soldier. After knight dies, BLM stops kiting, uses manaward/wall so dps can break SS on soldier. Once SS off, melee kill rook, then the OT's knight/soldier. Finally everyone kills last Dreadnaught.

We've been able to do it this way using dual PLD and have last Dreadnaught die right as enrage starts.

THanks for the tips im sure this will go much better now. Everyone saw that turn 4 vid where they burn down the p5 dread and deal with the mass chaos of 7 mobs in p6 and assumed that was the best way to do it.. but this way seems much cleaner
