    LB3 raise does give the Weakness/Brink of Death penalty just like normal. If that spot you use Raise in is in P5, you are doing it right. That's the best opportunity for any raise action in P5. Normal raise still leaves you vulnerable to Landslide, but if people know to keep distance, it's a 1 in 8 chance of getting hit.

    There is actually a short invincibility period during the raise animation, once your feet touch the ground, you can be hit.

    People need to learn when they can accept the raise, most idiots just accept it immediately and get hit by something. Wait a few seconds and accept it after he casts landslide, you will be up and nothing will be coming for a few seconds until after he table flips, which won't hit the raised person at all unless something has gone horribly wrong. The raise animation is fine, people are just stupid when they accept it.

    Now that that is out of the way.
    Death isn't scary in FFXIV. Sac pulls have no weight, the damage to gear is minimal.
    I say bring back exp penalties to death. If there is no penalty to death, it has no meaning. We have plenty of people wiping dungeons and going 'whoops lol' as it is, I say make it hurt.

    Not to be pedantic, but SCHs don't have raise, they have Resurrection.

    As for the point at hand, in my experience, while it's frustrating to raise someone, just to have them die again, it also lends weight to death. It's something that has real penalties and consequences. If you die, you may be out of the rest of the fight. I wouldn't go so far as the above - I think what we have is fine - but the ideal we should all strive for is not dying at all.

    ACN/SMN/SCH "Raise" is called "Resurrection". if you want to be all semantical about it.

    Rez is shorthand for resurrect/resurrection which is the scholar's "Raise." So yes both of those are actually quite correct.

    I really don't mind the raise mechanics adds some skill to the game. Knowing the encounter and deciding when to accept the raise.
