Anybody out there not at endgame yet?

Hello Famfrit! I'm just curious if there are any players like myself still out there. Since this server opened, I've been playing about 3 nights a week for a couple hours each night. I've taken my time, explored every area I've come across, hit the occasional FATE. I've been leveling a level 30 bard, level 28 gladiator and a level 20 conjurer, while also dabbling in each other class here and there. I just finished the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak and now I'm moving on in the story. Seems like every other player I come across is light years ahead of me, already at endgame and in a progression FC. I've had people more frequently talk to me in Duty Finder than I have on my own server. Am I the only one NOT on hyper speed in Famfrit?

Its not hyper speed. Modem MMO's are designed around a player base that wants to progress at a steady continuous rate.

The game is going on its 3rd month, along with several months of closed/open beta play. Even the ones who took their time like myself have already reached end game playing 2-3 hours a night. Its not that we are all rush rush rushing to get there as fast as we can. Its more that the game does not provide the content or environment that endorses hours of wandering and exploring or really much of anything that isn't progressing a job/class. Combine that with the social factor of finding a good FC and what you get is a player mentality that pushes to achieve goals together and progress forward. None of this lends to casually strolling through zones for hours or days on end.

I'm glad you are enjoying your play style but you won't find many who share that pace. We all agree the game would better be enjoyed if we all slowed down... but nobody is going to.

I know a decent amount of people still leveling and taking it slow. Either they have less time to play or are leveling multiple classes at once. There are also a decent number of people picking the game up now because it has gotten a decent word of mouth. If you're looking for people to play with in the game let me know, I can probably hook you up.

You're not alone . Due to work schedule, etc., I don't play a lot of hours per week so I too level slowly.
I came to Famfrit recently and started a new character who's not even level 20 yet.

Thanks for the feedback! I can totally understand the modern MMO gamer mindset; I used to be able to do that. These days, I work full time about 60 hours a week and I have 3 children so play time is at a premium for me. So I was just curious really if there were maybe some FC's out there accepting of players who are dedicated but don't really have a lot of time to play.

I'm certain you have already gotten invites from social FCs but if not then the sort answer is Yes. There is a FC for everyone. Everyone except Wananbe Healer that is.

Me but I seem to be the only one in FF14 that needs to get through stone vigil. Saturday and yesterday I gave up after 3 hours waiting for DF to find a team to do this

You're not the only one. Im taking my time too. I dont play everyday because I like to take breaks and also I work . I just got my Lancer to level 30 and Im about to be a Dragoon soon. I JUST got a chocobo, JUST joined a Grand Company and story-wise Im not rushing through at all. I dont get how people get to endgame so fast when the game hasnt even been out long.

I just reached level 15 and im still kinda lost and still trying to find a decent company to join for a lil bit of help. I dont want to super rush through anything but I am really enjoying the game. Im sure it will be a LONG time before i hit end game... but sooner or later I will thats for sure
