I used around 60 leves to raise WVR to 50 starting from 25 when I found out about the diremite web rewards, another 40 raising CRP alongside (neither was ever more than 5 levels higher than the other until post-40 when I burned WVR to the end), plus another 40 or so on BOT which fell behind after 35. GSM was a breeze and only took a week to get to 50 on less than 20 leves, while raising MIN at the same time is getting so close to 46.
When you're short on leve allowances, always pick the triple turn-ins. Not only do you get more XP/gil/items per leve allowance, the recipes are almost always lower level stuff that's easier to HQ.
This gives me hope for the future. After webs/fleece in Weaver, I really wasn't looking forward to an entire class based around the concept and was planning to leave LTW 'til last. ALC was already going to be the next one I raise, but maybe I'll push through LTW to see how it goes. It would be quite helpful to have for ARM as well as some of my WVR recipes.

The thing that slows me down is Rest Exper. I hate using it on crafting, would rather use it on Gathering. I just can't always bring myself to do those Gathering grinds but avoid the crafting when I see Rest Exper building.
The point being, I level them in blocks, all of them at once, based on gear sets. 31 was the number for all Velveteen and Silver. The next block is 38 for linen and Mythril. They will all get taken to 38 so I can use one set of gear on them all. GSM got the lead on that because of that. I wanted the HQ Jewelry in my Armory before I moved the others ahead.
As a self proclaimed "All Craft" Working on Blacksmith right now this is utterly silly.
Cooking and Alchemy have to be the worst in terms of item aquisition for recipes. If anything the lack of 40 durabillity recipes is a boon as it's much easier to push quality on "Finished" items rather than materials. Of course if your doing only leves there in lay your problem.
Lol crafting is hard? Someone was doing it wrong.
I know people here tend to compare this game with FF11, but if you didn't play FF11 and are instead comparing crafting to WoW or SWTOR, it's pretty clear how they could see crafting here as much more involved.
In the other big MMOs, crafting isn't a whole other class, it's at best a completely mindless mini-game that takes almost no time to level, and doesn't require any thought at all.
It's called miner. You level it at the same time as blacksmith/goldsmith/armorer and you can level virtually for free minus your gear repair costs. I'm currently leveling my goldsmith blacksmith armorer and miner simultaneously so I can use the same gear etc etc etc, they're currently all around 30. I haven't spent a single gil on any of them so far. In fact, I'm up several hundred K from when I started. Never buy mats, farm them yourself. It takes more time, sure, but why waste money on things that are free if you would just get off your lazy butt and go get them?huff huff huff that was crazy tiring and gil ripping off to get mats
as both BSM & ARM leves are solely either weapons , tools & gears
no single 40 durability item required in any leve i have tried
made them the hardest crafting classes to lv50
less allowances usage = more gil ripping off
more allowances usage ( longer time to lv50 ) = less gil ripping off
took me around 97 allowances to lv50 BSM & on my way to lv ARM now after i get my 100 allowances back
of course wasted about 230k gil to do so
Hardest and most gil consuming craft in the game is culinarian
ARM was pretty smooth and easy to get 50, and I made back all the gil and then some in 2 days of mining.
