it's was told about viera when they have done some poll while the end of the V1

check all of it ^^
I did notice at the end of that poll that they didn't specifically say whether or not we'd be able to "play" a new race, just what we'd like to see added.
I also think he was right when he said the results were probably skewed because he used Viera as an example of the Mammalian demi-beastmen (Bad choice as an example really).
If they ever do add a new race, and if it turns out to be unplayable like the Padjal, I'd rather they went with the second most popular vote on that Poll (the mixed races).
They've had mixed race experience in their previous MMO, FFXI, anyways with Lilisette.

Q38: In terms of new races, what kind of races are you looking into and will mixed races be introduced?
A38: I don’t think we’ll have mixed races for a while. Since it seems like Viera is popular around the world we have been proactively looking into this, but since having a rabbit male might be kind of weird, maybe we’ll look into having a separate race for the male counterpart.
it's from 22 feb 2013, but like i did say, you don't plan to add new races like this, it take a looooot of time!
I had forgotten about that interview...http://www.siliconera.com/2013/02/22...baby-behemoth/

I don't see how they went from adding a Male Miqo'te as a partner to it's Female counterpart to, "Oh, it would be weird to have a male counterpart for a predominantly female race." ...lol
What are they talking about?! The only reason the Male Miqo'te was added was because of popular demand anyways!
Why are we going back to the Mithra/Galka standard?
Because the lore in FFXII says the Viera are a female only race?
What does Ivalice have to do with Eorzea?
They repurposed FFXI's races, added a gender, and removed a tail for some of them, but they're not thinking of doing the same for FFXII's Viera if they do add them?
Sometimes this development team confuses the crap out of me.

Forum Troll is the new race.

I mean... I'm not against Viera, though I think I would much rather have Ronso. Viera while they have their obvious differences, just feel like another variation of miqo'te with bunny ears. Ronso are unique, badass looking and from a developer standpoint, not that much harder to design gear for as opposed to some other possible races they could choose from (Looking at you Seeqs, you fatasses).

I want Burmecians like Freya from FFIX
Hmmm. I'm not sure if they'd go for another race based off of felines.I mean... I'm not against Viera, though I think I would much rather have Ronso. I definitely couldn't see something like Banga in Eorzea, simply because that sounds like a nightmare to configure all the current armor for.
Just going on their responses to things like the "Butt Thread" I find it incredibly difficult to believe they'd ever add a race that isn't mostly humanoid in appearance, so most likely we'll see Viera or something incredibly similar.
