It's a really terrible "feature" that also fails recipes you'd never in a million years fail yourself at. Totally pointless.Yes, you miss something.
After you crafted an item once, you can use express craft for this item. You can then choose how much it should craft and if it can also use HQ material. Then it craft automatic the amount you want. But you get very little exp for it. This feature is only if you need some crafted material fast, not for earning exp.
Well, if you find the game "murderously boring" you could simply unsubscribe and you could always resubscribe after a couple of months. Since A Realm Reborn is in its infancy, things are expected to be slow. According to a developer interview from awhile back, the majority of players are not even level 50 yet.
Also, if you level up a crafting class enough, you will learn a skill where you can make "x" amount of "y" (after you have successfully made one of "y").
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
I levelled a BLM to 50. It's quite simple until you get your full set of skills. Even after it's quite simple but there are a lot of tricks to maximize your dps with it, which I like.
BLM takes a bit less activity but more precision by the end.
I rerolled Monk and made it my main. I like that it doesn't have a simple rotation. Maybe another class might suit you better.
I still use my BLM though, and it was a good investment to have both.
Monk, dragoon and summoner all have more things to look out for while dps-ing. This might make you more interested in the game.
If you don't like your class's playstyle, it's going to affect your perception of how boring the game is.
This is just for laughs... to hopefully lighten up the mood in here lol
In all honesty, at least when it comes to the classes, if you're bored of one certain class try something outside of your comfort zone. I'll be doing the same soon, by playing a "straight tanking" tank. I'm used to tanking evasion wise. By either Evasion as a skill, active dodging classes that are tanks, or shadows (i.e. NIN from XI.) But I want to shake up my usual DD/Mage only routine and try out WAR and PLD to see which one I like more. Maybe try a class you never thought of playing, learn it inside and out, and by the time you hit 50 you might just have found a new play style you like!

I find this game dreadfully boring, to be honest. The only reason I log in each week is to do Coil and a couple of dungeons to cap mythology. Can't bring myself to level any more classes after having one of each role because the combat just feels so homogenized. I think the game has potential personally and I'll hang around for end game and a good group of friends, but as it is now... pretty boring.
But you - and I - and people like us, have to ask ourselves a question; are we not just bored of MMO's in general? I think the answer is yes for me, so I blame the developers very little and encourage others to have fun to their hearts content.
Maybe MMOs just aren't your thing man.
Well...*sigh* to be honest ive asked myself this question a few times, and its not mmos in general its current mmos ive seen to grow tired of. They just follow this formula like they expect it to net them money every time... raid raid razzzzzzzzzzz.... *snore*
In all honesty id like to see an mmo REALLY shake things up, have AI actually attack things like cities and there be a real threat.. you dont save the city? well you obviously lose it... stuff like that..
Personally this theme park stuff is getting a bit old and outdated... its time for something new... but until then i suppose ill chill here with my friends. They are the only reason i stay for now.

That's a fair point too, MMO's are a farcry from what they used to be and there really is very little diversity to be found between the new titles. Meanwhile, the older ones have either bitten the dust or changed so dramatically they're not fun in the same way anymore, either. There was a good write up about "First love syndrome" when it comes to MMO's that explains some of it away, but you can certainly pin the lack of diversity on most MMO developers these days. But they make what sells so what'cha gonna do? I suspect a lot of us are just here "passing the time" till something better comes along, and we're probably a big part of the problem too, haha.
To me, yes it is. I can't bring myself to do any more WP or AK runs, but at least I got my money's worth in playtime. Was going to stick around until the Lightning Fate event, but I guess not.
in my eyes, just you, because I am having fun.
