Man, if people know me from when I agree'd with folks back in this forums when I fight countless Knights that this game is snooze fest...you'd know I use to fight countless Knights as this game is a snoozefest.
But now I'm generally tired of these threads too.
Whether it be "This game is boring." Moreover "This game is awesome!"
I find crafting fun, which is the only reason I'm here otherwise I would quit at 50 WHM.
I'ma just agree the game could use more stuff and that is all I'ma say lol.
Yes, log in once a week and clear BC and get your Myth.
This is what happens when you allow crybabies to influence developers. Deal with it!
As said in other threads, I'm still having a good time. Leveled the only 2 battle classes I wanted. Leveled all gathering, working on the crafts. Just started coil. +1 for WHM on monday. I want to collect all chocobo barding. Still need to level a sub class. The daily supply and provision from GC. All that between making gil and helping friends. 2.1 has a lot of stuff coming as well.
Nothing wrong with dropping sub and picking it back up if anything interests you about 2.1.
If you don't enjoy BLM, try another class. It might just be because I never play damage dealing jobs, or because I'm lazy, but as for mage classes, summoner seems a little complex in comparison to BLM.
My main is WHM, and I really have much fun with it.
Then I start leveling a BLM...yes, it almost bored me to death...
While I am leveling a BLM, I am also leveling a SMN & SCH...SCH is quite fun, too.
So I guess it is kinda dependent on the class that you play. You need to be always on your toes when playing WHM and SCH, you can play both Healer and DPS roles. I did a lot of 6 WHM, 1 Bard 1 Tank run for CM, mainly Holy & Regen, that was pretty fun too!
Being a healer also requires you to have high awareness of your teammates conditions, debuffs and etc, on top of all the dodging and positioning, unlike BLM.
I plan to start leveling DoW and start gathering/crafting after I bring all my DoM classes to 50. From what a lot of people says, it looks like PLD/WAR/MNK and all those gathering/crafting jobs are not boring at all. DRG seems to require a lot of positioning, so that one may not be boring also.
I think the reason BLM is boring, because all you do is DPS DPS DPS, with occasional sleep, and the skill damage isn't positioning-dependent like DRG.
So please, before saying this GAME is boring, try other classes first. BLM does not represent the entire game itself.
Also, have you:
- Talk to all NPC and see what they say? There are a lot of NPC saying interesting stuff, but they do not have title over their heads, try approach them.
- Visit all corners on all maps...there are some pretty interesting things around the game world...Like, there's a giant, slanted door somewhere at the end of Mor Dhona...take some screenshots there.
- Collect all minions/barding
- Collect all unique equips from dungeons for future Vanity slots
- Try out all Grand Company
- Try to get some specific FATE achievements? They usually comes with rare rewards such as minions, or items to exchange for exclusive armor pieces.
- Due to gaming experience in Elder Scrolls 4 & 5, I also like to climb very high, then try to jump down and see if I can hit certain target on the ground...but maybe that's just meThe towers in Dragonhead map is pretty fun place to do this.
There's a lot of things to do in this game. Don't limit yourself![]()

The endgame does feel grindy and pointless. The story falls off a cliff towards the end.
I suppose the biggest flaw is not launching with PvP. That was a huge mistake, because when you don't have much end-game content (like all new MMOs), PvP makes up for that.
But 2.1 should address the worst of the problems, if it really delivers PvP and casual raids. There might still be something missing with the story, though. If the Garleans are the big bads, why are we wasting all this time on silly primals?
People learn, grow, change and mature for better or worse.
I have been playing MMOs as my primary game type for almost 14 years now, and I can say with absolute certainty that in my personal opinion, to me, this is the most boring MMO I have ever played.
Speed runs, fate exp imbalance and yoshi's blind ignorance just obliterated the respect I had for the game overall, which was quite a bit coming into 2.0.
When the company tries to convince its players that, everything is fine they are just doing it wrong, instead of revamping the aspect in question that is clearing flawed, you have a serious SERIOUS outlook problem.
Then to make it even worse you creatively eat your own words a month later, all of that time you could have been designing a solution instead of trying to save PR face, pathetic.
The narrow track that this game attempts to force its players into, results in farming coil, and doing speed runs to gear your character's additional jobs.
After only a short while of minimal play you are left with zero difficult tasks that do not require your FC at an organized time, which is not always a bad thing in MMOs, but in this case it is quite tragic.
The ability to log into the game and accomplish something of meaning is in fact possible without a FC or coil group, but it has huge diminishing returns.
When you begin gearing your 3rd or 4th job that you will likely never be able to main, you begin to question why in fact you are even bothering.
Many things have been mainstreamed and simplified from FFXI that is for sure, but this also results in 1 perfect set of gear that will always be of the highest Ilvl, and almost zero need for situational pieces you can attempt to obtain as side grades.
When 2.1 hits those that are clearing coil will have been clearing harder content than newly released content. This will result in a few clears for events sake then a return to the normal routine.
It is not looking good :/
Yes, you miss something.
After you crafted an item once, you can use express craft for this item. You can then choose how much it should craft and if it can also use HQ material. Then it craft automatic the amount you want. But you get very little exp for it. This feature is only if you need some crafted material fast, not for earning exp.
