The only reason Fates were so popular was they were the only reasonable way to level alt jobs. By 2.1 I was 500% done with fates and still am to this day, but I will do them if required or if there's enough incentive. Luckily 2.1 added beast tribe quests if I remember right. Now we have multiple ways to level and they're without a doubt faster (roulettes, Deep Dungeon, dungeons, etc.) As far as open world content we have the Hunt and treasure maps currently. Most people are done with the content currently available or the content they've chosen to take part in, and that was to be expected. Same thing happened with 2.0, though everyone was probably leveling more then. 3.0 was the same way as well. 4.0 is no different, and I'll be honest...my server was and still is pretty active. Has it died down a bit? Oh yeah, no question. HW didn't retain players quite like SB has. I myself am leveling RDM and plan to level a couple other jobs before 4.1, and I'm also continuing to gear SAM via tome gear. That itself does take a couple months. Give it a month or so and people will be back either to prep for the next patch or FOR the next patch itself. There will be things to do then, but for now all we can do is wait. That's really all there is to it. Nothing we haven't seen before.
