Unfortunately, I have to agree. I have a whm I do coils 1-4 with which is my main. A 50 bard I've used for breaking down materia and farming mats. I've got botany to 50, mining almost to 50 and summoner/scholar unlocked at 30. Also did blm up to 26 for swiftcast. Right now all I'm doing is fates on my smn to rank up a fc I made with my bf. This is in hopes of at least being able to use fc housing without waiting for the possibility of personal housing 6 months from now. My bf has almost every craft leveled up which is why I did the gathering route.

We've been playing league of legends when we're bored with fates.

    Yes, it is boring.

WoW: hooked me for roughly 8 years.
Pre-cu SWG: hooked me of 1.5 years (8+ years emulator).
    Rift: 9 months.
    SWToR: 5 months.
    AOC: 3 months.
    Cabal: 3 months.
    Runes of Magic: 4 months.
    Requiem: 6 months.
    UO: 2 years.
    EQ: 2 years.
GW2: 1.5 years, still play it and is where I go after doing my myth cap...if it had trinity, I would not even have tried this game. heh.
    Everything else: 1 month 'trial'.

This MMO, at least for launch has no hook and it's extremely light end game content wise. And no, I do not consider levelling a crafting class as 'content'...sorry hitting macros is dull.

Also like to point out that most those MMOs I was solo for most of them except WoW/pre-cu swg/Rift/EQ yet they still had enough things to do to keep me logging in daily.

FF 14: right now, past three weeks I log in one day per...just enough to do 8 AKs...

Ok yes, I guess this MMO is just not for me. Compared to all the MMOs I listed...MOST of them had min 2x the things to do than here + almost all of those MMOs had PvP at launch unlike here...each their own I guess.

p.s. problem is there a lack of decent MMOs right now and this particular one has been launched at the perfect time; there is an MMO drought right now. I like how the game plays and looks but I don't like that there is jack all really to do which is the problem. Also dislike their 3+ month time to release patches, I am going to guess that consoles might be to blame here since they are a) limited in capability b) have an extremely long process time to get patches 'passed'? Hum. GW2 is b2p, and runs purely on their gem store YET they can have content updates every 2 weeks but a 20 buck a month MMO cannot? Ok then.

This guy obviously did not play wow at launch like I did. I wanted to rebuke his lies but meh, a simple whatever buddy seems to be enough to satisfy me.

It's boring and I haven't logged in for a couple weeks now. Here's my list.

    Fate grinding is just awful
    Leve Quests are awful
Minimal quests once you finish 1 job and almost no quest after the 2nd job.

There's just nothing to do except a few instances every day and after a month of that I can't deal with it any more. Leveling a 2nd class is when it starts getting painful. The 3rd class is just tedious and near impossible without quests. And fate grinding is ok for maybe an hour. But I seriously can't deal with more then that a day. So I've pretty much given up until they fix this issue. The end game fights remind me of WoW and i'm here because I don't want to play WoW. So i'm very disappointed with the way these boss fights are.

I was hoping for a game more similar to FFXI and instead I get a WoW clone. bah

The biggest problem is that this game was designed such that 95% of its content is only done once.

This is why the game is so boring. Its not that the game itself is terribly boring, but that it was designed to rush you through the majority of its content and then you farm AK/WP for tomes. That's the sum of the endgame, and its really tragic.

I know people hate slow leveling curves in general but at least when it takes a while to level you get to stop and enjoy each zone and each dungeon and you run them multiple times.

This whole 'game starts at 50' developer philosophy sucks, and was a big mistake imo.

So yeah, I'm with you. I'm finding things to do like leveling alt classes and derping around with the (mostly useless) crafting system. And I'm still enjoying myself, but I suspect I'll be bored to tears by Christmas. I hope 2.1 keeps this game going... because as it stands I know I'm gonna burn out soon.

here is my opinion on the matter.

I used to be a hardcore MMO player. WoW, FXI, and LOTRO were all games that I played to death, and they will forever have a place in my heart. I can't play for 5-8 hours a day anymore. While I will agree that there isn't enough to do for that amount of time at end game (assuming from what people say) at this point in time, it is OK with me. It seams that SE has made FF12 into an MMO. A game who's content is as difficult as the player allows it to be. If you are undergeard, it is hard (and vice-versa). I like this style of game but I can concede that it will get dull for people that aim to accomplish things quickly. Their needs to be more variety. While 2.1 offers some interesting things, having a 24 man dungeon in place for players that will already be geared over it, seams a bit backwards.

Here are some things that I think should be implemented aside from hat has been said in the dev notes for 2.1:

    1. Notorious Monsters (FFXI style, not FATE NM's): This will make people go out and hunt down monsters in places not just to level up, but to solo, group kill, and get gear that is unique from dungeon/instance gear.

    2. Ability based gear: All the gear to date just increases stats. Where is the gear that will increase X skill/ability by Y value? Why can't i get a shield that increases my shield bash stun time? Why can't a BLM get a rod that increases Ice damage by X?

    3. Materia needs to have more variety: If materia had more variety, crafted gear and gear that has materia slots will be more sought after. If the materia has more variety (not just stat increases) people can be more creative with their classes. Pretty much the same principle as #2.

    4. Harder solo content: this is self explanatory. The only challenging solo content is trying to kill fate bosses, which altogether sucks because people just come in and help out. There needs to be a solution here.

    5. Ability to go into a dungeon with less than the required amount of people. I should be able to go into Toto-Rak at 50 with a friend and try to duo it, just because I'm up for the challenge.

    6. Card mini-games: a staple (somewhat) of the FF series that IMO would fit in really well in an MMO. If I'm bored/waiting for people/etc., I should be able to play tetra master on the streets of Limsa Lominsa with someone. Bet gil, etc., and generate more interaction between players.

    7. Make monsters drop gil: Allow me, if I want to, to endlessly farm mobs for gil. Bird Blood farming from FFXI anyone? yes, please.

Cant think of anymore right now as I am at work, but I think these things will make more content in game and not limit players to only a few reasons to log on.

I would like it if they had other ways to obtain endgame gear. From what i see said about endgame i really don't want to deal with most of the bad people in duty finder. A good example of other ways would be like how DCUO did the solo "challenges". Where you could do some hard solo instance and get some marks (tomes), but not nearly what you'd get for running a dungeon raid with a group. They could also only be done once per day. They were great for if you didn't have time to set up a whole group but still wanted to make alittle progress before bed, or maintenance in FFXIVs case.
