How To: Maximize Your DPS as Dragoon

So moving beyond most of the nonsense in this thread -- I vehemently disagree that this rotation maximizes dps.

Phleb is a dot and thus, should be applied first as should disembowel//CT...

Once those are stacked, there's a noticeable difference...

Now I'm not knocking anyone else's rotation but, the rule of thumb seems to be: Apply dots first...

Just sayin.

PH benefits from 10% piercing resistance as the attack does fine potency itself. The dot is simply bonus. Fracture does auto attack damage which is why it's useless

I know, I didn't mean quite in that order, I just meant in terms of the engagement, those should be top priority.

It is. The point is to not let it fall off (along with CT unless it clips) so that it benefits from HT / DS. However, this rotation applies HT/DS first to assure other abilities hit as hard as they can.

Seriously instead of constant trolling, can you guys give detailed parse(s) proving Longnu false instead of simply saying she is wrong with no evidence to back it up? By detailed I mean showing how long the fight was, and the entire list of moves that were used and how much DPS they did, not the parody parse screenshot that was recently put up there. Instead of talking crap, post some evidence proving Longnu wrong please, because I have yet to see some.

Calling people 'idiot, stupid and dumb' is their form of 'evidence'. I still have yet to see any tangible proof of what I am saying is incorrect. It's simply been beating around the bush and throwing insults.

Can I just re-state how useless DPS in FFXIV-APP is? Let me be a little more specific this time then: LongNu did (<20%) more total damage than the 2 next highest DPS players on that parser but the DPS difference doesn't even come close to matching the difference between total damage done (>30%). There is clearly a discrepency with regards to how DPS is calculated and one of the several causes is mentioned in my previous post. (post limit)

Furthermore, the length of the parse is highly unreliable, as this one turned out to be atypical of the usual cases. Compare the CRIT and REG columns for each attack and in total. For comparison, if your crit damage matches your regular damage done, that denotes a critical hit rate of 40% for that attack (eg. 1+1+1+1.5+1.5). If it's higher, your critical hit rate is higher than 40%. Your critical damage vs regular damage in that parse is far, far beyond the norm even with 2 uses of LS and IR within the ~83 seconds of that parse. Just comparing the REG/CRIT ratio for the other players on that parse should make that rather obvious. You could have easily have had anywhere close to 20-30 DPS less if your critical hits were closer to normal levels for that parse.

There has been no evidence in support of the claim thus far, so generating counter-evidence is a waste of time. Someone might do it just because, but it's not required. There's currently no reason to believe the initial claim without evidence.
