Lost progress on my A Relic Reborn quest, considering quitting. Please help!

I'm really bummed out right now.

I was on the "A Relic Reborn" questline and had been making progress on it over the span of two weeks. I bought the expensive weapon and the more expensive materias, which had me selling my whole inventory to break even. I completed Amdapor Keep, which I'd been banging my head against all week. Then, on the next leg of the quest, I was to take an unfinished form of the Relic Weapon and go kill some world mobs. My inventory was full, however, so I got the quest but didn't get the weapon. No big deal, I figured, I'll just abandon the quest and pick it up where I left off. When I abandoned the quest, however, I found that I had to start over waaaaay at the beginning. This was EXTREMELY disheartening, especially after all of the progress I've felt I made.

I've done some research and found that a lot of players havd had the same problem, and none of them have been given any recompense or progress on their questline. If I'm being completely honest, the whole process has left a bad taste in my mouth. After all, with no systems in place to handle a problem like this one, how much longer do I have to play before something like this happens again? When ti does, will it be your fault for not having an answer, or my own for knowing you wouldn't?

Please help me out. I'm a diehard fan of the series and I really like the game, but this has killed my motivation to play. If I can't get this sorted out, I'm probably going to quit.

Any insight you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

The quest warns you if you abandon it progress will be lost. Not sure why you would be entitled to compensation.

Did you check your armory backpack before resetting the quest. Because most likely, it ended up in your main-hand weapon pack and not your regular backpack since it was full. Or was your armory pack full too? If so, you might consider dumping stuff on your retainer.

Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I'll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day.

If you are indeed full, the quest stays at that point so it's just a matter of off loading some stuff then talking to the NPC again.

I've been there and abandoned my own first relic quest by accident.

You won't get compensated in anyway, what happened was not even remotely the game's fault but only yours.

The weapon would have gone to your armory chest not your inventory, so quiting the quest and loosing progress was your fault. If it really wasn't there also you should have submited a GM ticket, but you didn't.

You know I lost all my progress on my a relic reborn also. I turned the oils in and he gave me a weapon. Im mad I have to start all over too. The sucky part is that I can't do it on my blm again >< I did not get a warning at all saying that I would lose my progress and not be able to restart it as a blm again. Now I have to level another class to get the quest again.

Don't ever walk around with full bags and don't ever click on a message that says "abandon quest, all progress will be deleted". That's usually a tale tale sign you will be starting over. Next time insert ticket to the gm before you do anything.

At least you did not abandon your quest out of a rage group quit like some silly people... Count yourself one of the smarter people that at least read what you were deleting.

Pinworms, you are able to start it fresh again as a BLM. The quest just resets if you abandon it during any of the step, it gets zeroed.

You just need to talk to the smithy, go get the item, buy the weapon, meld it and so on. All it does is cost you time and money if you abandon it halway through. But you can always start over from the first quest in the line. If you cant then you need to contact in-game support or something and make sure you dont have it on another class.

You are not getting compensated or put back to the point of the quest dropped off at. The end.
