What strats do you use to handle phases 5 and 6? the group i was with was using a cookie cutter dual pld strat, and i was getting absolutely murdered trying to 2 soldiers and 2 knights. What do you guys do differently?

Even with 2 paladins we kill the soldier and knight from Wave 5, leaving the dreadnaught up.
Wave 6:
MT grabs new dreadnaught.
OT grabs spiders/knight/soldier.
DPS burns rook(untanked) -> 1st dreadnaught (should already be down a bit) -> knight or soldier or both (depending on magic/phys spread)
OT runs last 2 spiders into dread, everyone stacks behind it and starts burning like crazy
As the OT I burn Holy ground so I can stand and build aggro on my mobs for the duration without needing heals, then I kite the mobs around away from the dps/heals opposite side of room as MT. Once the rook and first dread are down, heals can split on you and the MT so you can stop and tank as normal. Before that 90% of the heals need to be on the MT, so kite like a cheesy bastard.
the problem is that i take far too much damage trying to build hate to kite effectively, and only having MP for a couple of flashes, i have to keep stopping to throw axes. it hasnt been working well, expecially with the knight magnet
Friendly Tip for Turn 4: Don't Spam flash because it will be reflected on soldiers for 700-900 dmg
aha thanks, i didnt realize that. lol so how do you grab immediate hate on them, and kite them without using flash?
Not sure that you can honestly. Overpower spams?
I would say you still need atleast 2 flashes to get everything at least on you. For me the dps were ripping stuff off me without flash spams as you have almost no time to setup hate on those adds before the dps start going at it.
Aye, do 1-2 flashes and no more, while kiting do an overpower when they draw you in. If you have wrath almost ending do a drive by inner beast so it doesnt go to waste then pop convalesence or Infuriate, you can also pop a potion while kiting to help a bit.
I offtanked Turn 4 as a war, it should give you some idea where I stood and what was focused during the last few phases ^.^

Also, this video is of another offtank war, this is the strategy we used to clear it

2 soldiers and 2 knights .. at the same time? Should be 1 soldier and 1 knight in each wave, and the 2 in wave 5 should die before wave 6 spawns. I suppose conceivably some groups might want to kill the Dreadnaught from wave 5 instead of knight/soldier, but I've never seen it done that way.
Wave 5 is tough on offtank because you have to pick up agro and hold it on 2 targets while staying alive and DPS is going hard. I usually burn cooldowns here. Some you will get back in time for wave 6, some you won't.
Wave 6 your group may or may not let the bugs go immediately to the new dreadnaught. I've seen both ways work. So offtank is picking up knight/soldier (and optionally bugs) and kiting that around. DPS goes Rook -> the Wave 5 dreadnaught -> Knight/soldier -> last Dreadnaught. After that wave 5 dreadnaught dies is when you should stop kiting, burn any defensive cooldowns you have, and tank 'em stationary while DPS does their thing - and feed the bugs if you were kiting those.
Don't use Tomahawk while kiting. Or picking up the aggro, should all be done with flash/overpower/provoke.
Grab 1 bug, 1 soldier, 1 knight.
Have a dps feed the far bug that you cant grab in time to the freshly spawned dreadnaught (1 stack on a dread isnt going to make a huge difference)
^ Unless you have a skilled whm knock the bug toward you so you can easily pick it up**
^* I really recommend feeding the 1 bug to the fresh dreadnaught, it saves you having to tank 4 mobs, instead you tank 3**
Kite back and forth in a quarter circle using Overpower/Flash. But MOSTLY use Overpower, use Flash if you're low on TP. Everytime the knight sucks you in, get more enmity. Everytime you run back from kiting into the mobs, get more enmity. Basically use an overpower when you run past them.
Make sure your wrath stacks are ACTIVE and at 5, so you get the bonus 15% healing received. Use your Defensive cooldowns when you start kiting and you have enough aggro.
Make sure all this is done and you should be fine.
